Google Pixel 11 Series Unveiled Early: Specs, AI Features, Cameras, Battery, and Prices
Google appears to have taken the surprise out of its own Pixel 11 launch by revealing the new smartphone lineup ahead of schedule. Even so, the Pixel 11 series still brings plenty to talk about, especially for users interested in brighter displays, stronger AI performance, improved cameras, longer software support, and magnetic wireless charging.
The new lineup includes the Google Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. While the regular Pixel 11 looks like a polished upgrade rather than a dramatic redesign, the Pro models introduce several exclusive features that help separate them from the standard version.
Pixel 11 series design and display upgrades
Google has refined the look of the Pixel 11 family with a slimmer all-glass camera bar that is 40 percent thinner than before. All three slab-style models also come with IP68 dust and water resistance, plus Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Google is using a new protective coating that is claimed to offer twice the scratch resistance compared with the Pixel 10.
The Pixel 11 features a 6.3-inch Actua display with a 1080 x 2424 resolution. It supports a 60Hz to 120Hz refresh rate, though it does not use LTPO technology like the Pro models. Brightness reaches up to 2,000 nits for HDR content and 3,000 nits at peak. The phone measures 152.4 x 71.1 x 7.62mm and weighs 195.6 grams.
The Pixel 11 Pro also has a 6.3-inch screen, but it upgrades to a Super Actua LTPO panel with a 1Hz to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Resolution rises to 1280 x 2856, while brightness jumps to 2,400 nits for HDR and up to 3,600 nits peak. It shares the same dimensions as the standard Pixel 11 but is slightly heavier at 204.1 grams.
The Pixel 11 Pro XL is the larger option, featuring a 6.8-inch Super Actua LTPO display with a 1344 x 2992 resolution. It also reaches up to 3,600 nits peak brightness. The device measures 162.6 x 76.2 x 7.62mm and weighs 226.7 grams.
Pixel 11 camera upgrades widen the gap between standard and Pro models
Google is once again putting major focus on photography and video, but the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL clearly get the more advanced camera hardware.
The standard Pixel 11 comes with a new 48MP main camera with an f/1.7 aperture. The sensor is larger than last year’s version at 1/1.56 inches, helping deliver 56 percent better light sensitivity. It is joined by a 13MP ultrawide camera, a 10.8MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and up to 30x Super Res Zoom, and a 10.5MP front camera for selfies.
The Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL keep a 50MP main sensor with a large 1/1.3-inch format, alongside a 48MP ultrawide camera. The biggest hardware improvement is the upgraded 48MP 5x telephoto camera, which now uses a larger 1/1.95-inch sensor. Google says this brings 30 percent better light sensitivity and enables up to 120x Pro Zoom. The Pro models also receive a major selfie upgrade with a 42MP front-facing camera.
Camera software is also getting smarter. Camera Looks lets users customize photo profiles inspired by different film styles, giving images a more personalized finish straight from the camera app. Magic Capture is designed to pull five HDR+ 12MP still images from a short video clip, making it easier to catch the best moment without perfectly timing the shutter.
Google is also introducing Creator Suite, which adds tools such as a storyboard editor, project folders, and a Teleprompter that adjusts pacing. These additions appear aimed at content creators who use their phones for social media videos, vlogs, and quick production work.
The Pro models get extra camera benefits, including cloud-based Pro Stable Video and a faster Instant Night Sight mode that is claimed to be up to 4.5 times quicker than earlier versions.
HiLight brings back the spirit of the notification LED
One of the most interesting new Pixel 11 features is HiLight, previously known as Pixel Glow. It works like a modern version of the classic notification LED, but instead of sitting on the front of the phone, it is built directly into the rear camera bar.
HiLight glows in different patterns when users interact with Gemini AI. It can also be customized with specific colors for favorite contacts during incoming calls. Messaging support is expected to arrive later through a future update.
However, HiLight is not available on every model. Google is keeping this hardware feature exclusive to the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL, meaning the standard Pixel 11 does not include it.
Battery and charging: Pixelsnap magnetic wireless charging arrives
Google is not switching to silicon-carbon batteries this year. Instead, the Pixel 11 series continues to use traditional lithium-ion batteries, with slightly adjusted capacities compared with the previous generation.
A key upgrade is built-in Pixelsnap magnetic wireless charging. The feature is Qi2.2-certified and supports wireless charging speeds up to 25W, making the Pixel 11 lineup more convenient for magnetic chargers and accessories.
The Pixel 11 includes a 4,985 mAh battery with 30W wired charging. Google says it can reach 50 percent charge in 30 minutes.
The Pixel 11 Pro has a slightly smaller 4,850 mAh battery and also supports 30W wired charging, reaching 50 percent in 30 minutes.
The Pixel 11 Pro XL gets the largest battery among the three standard models at 5,115 mAh. It supports faster 45W wired charging and can reach 75 percent in 30 minutes.
Performance, Android 17, and next-generation AI
The Pixel 11 series launches with Android 17 out of the box. Google is promising 7 years of operating system updates, security patches, and Pixel Drop feature updates, making the lineup a strong choice for buyers who keep their phones for several years.
Powering the phones is the new Tensor G6 chip, paired with the Titan M3 security coprocessor. The Tensor G6 uses a 7-core CPU layout, consisting of one Arm C1-Ultra core at 4.1GHz, four C1-Pro cores at 3.3GHz, and two C1-Pro cores at 2.6GHz. Graphics are handled by a PowerVR C-series GPU with six compute units.
Google claims the Tensor G6 delivers 20 percent better efficiency, 25 percent faster web browsing, and 15 percent faster app loading. That suggests the biggest improvements may be felt in everyday responsiveness and battery efficiency rather than raw benchmark jumps.
The new Tensor Processing Unit is also much stronger, offering 50 percent more computing power and double the memory bandwidth. Combined with the latest Gemini Nano model, on-device AI tasks are said to run 3.5 times faster while using 3.5 times less energy.
Google is calling its broader AI experience Gemini Intelligence. It is designed to make AI more deeply integrated across the phone, helping with more advanced system-level tasks. Circle to Search can now be triggered directly inside the camera app, while Live Translate adds real-time audio dubbing for supported apps, including YouTube.
Another new feature, Rambler, is a voice input system built to better understand natural speech patterns. Instead of forcing users to speak in a polished or robotic way, it is designed around how people actually talk.
Storage finally starts at 256GB
One welcome change is that base storage now starts at 256GB across the Pixel 11 series. Google is using Zoned UFS storage, and buyers no longer have to settle for a 128GB entry-level model.
RAM configuration is more complicated. The Pixel 11 comes with 12GB of RAM. The entry-level Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL also start with 12GB of RAM, which may disappoint users expecting all Pro models to include 16GB by default. To get 16GB of RAM, buyers must choose the 512GB or 1TB storage versions.

The Pixel 11 series may not completely reinvent Google’s smartphone formula, but it does sharpen the experience in meaningful ways. Brighter displays, improved camera sensors, smarter AI tools, longer update support, Pixelsnap magnetic charging, and the new HiLight feature give the lineup a stronger identity.
For most buyers, the standard Pixel 11 delivers the essentials with a lower starting price. However, users who want the best camera system, brighter LTPO display, faster night photography, 120x Pro Zoom, and HiLight will need to look at the Pixel 11 Pro or Pixel 11 Pro XL.
