Motorola Razr+ 2026 aims to be the sweet spot between price and premium foldable features
Motorola’s Razr Ultra 2026 is the company’s most advanced clamshell foldable of the year, but with a price sitting just under $1,500, it is not an easy purchase for many shoppers. As smartphone prices continue to rise and some brands adjust hardware choices due to ongoing memory-related cost pressures, buyers are increasingly looking for foldable phones that feel premium without reaching ultra-premium pricing.
That is where the Motorola Razr+ 2026 comes in. For the first time, Motorola has introduced a middle option in its Razr lineup, positioned between the standard Razr 2026 and the high-end Razr Ultra 2026. Priced at around $1,100, the Razr+ 2026 is designed for users who want more than the entry-level model offers but do not want to spend nearly $1,500 on the Ultra version.
The result is a clamshell foldable that borrows some of the best features from its more expensive sibling while keeping the overall package more accessible.
One of the biggest highlights of the Motorola Razr+ 2026 is its large 4-inch external display, the same size found on the Razr Ultra 2026. This nearly square cover screen has a sharp 1,272 x 1,080 resolution, making it useful for quick tasks, notifications, widgets, camera previews, and even some app interactions without needing to unfold the phone.
The external display also supports a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. While that maximum refresh rate may not be used often in everyday scenarios, it helps the screen feel extremely smooth when scrolling or interacting with supported content. HDR support is also included, and the display gets impressively bright, reaching up to 2,684 cd/m² in testing. That makes it suitable for viewing HDR content and improves outdoor visibility in bright conditions.
For protection, Motorola uses Gorilla Glass Victus on the external screen. It is not the newest version of protective glass, but it remains tough and reliable enough for daily use. Like many modern foldables, the cameras are integrated into the cover display area. They do take up noticeable space, but this is a common compromise among clamshell foldable designs.
Battery life is one area where the Razr+ 2026 makes a more noticeable compromise. Motorola equipped this model with a 4,500 mAh battery, which is the smallest battery in the current Razr series. In a web browsing test using fixed screen brightness, the phone lasted around 14 hours. That is acceptable for many users, but some competing foldable phones may offer longer endurance.
Charging performance is solid. The Razr+ 2026 supports wired charging at up to 45 watts, allowing the phone to reach a full charge in just over an hour. Wireless charging is also available, with support for up to 15 watts.
Overall, the Motorola Razr+ 2026 fills an important gap in Motorola’s foldable lineup. It offers a premium-style clamshell design, a bright and smooth external display, HDR support, durable glass protection, and fast charging, all at a lower price than the flagship Razr Ultra 2026. While the smaller battery may be a drawback for heavy users, the Razr+ 2026 could be the most balanced choice for shoppers who want a stylish foldable phone without paying top-tier flagship prices.
