Thermaltake Dockpower FI PSUs Make PC Cable Management and Upgrades Much Easier
Anyone who has built or upgraded a gaming PC knows that power supply cable management can quickly become one of the most frustrating parts of the process. Tight spaces, awkward connector angles, and the need to route cables cleanly behind the motherboard tray can turn a simple PSU installation into a time-consuming task.
Thermaltake is aiming to make that experience smoother with its new Dockpower FI power supply series. The standout feature is a detachable cable dock module, designed to let users connect and organize PSU cables before the main power supply is even mounted inside the case.
The Dockpower FI design separates the main PSU unit from the cable connection module. This dock can be removed and reattached using a D-ring screw, allowing builders to plug in their cables more comfortably outside the cramped interior of a PC case. Once the cables are connected and routed, the dock can be secured back to the main PSU.
This approach could be especially useful for custom PC builders, frequent upgraders, and anyone working with compact or visually focused builds where clean cable routing matters. Thermaltake also includes fully modular low-profile cables, which should help improve airflow and create a cleaner interior layout.
Another major benefit of this design is easier future upgrading. Since the cable dock stays connected to the system’s cables, users can swap out the main PSU unit for a higher-wattage model without disconnecting and rerouting every cable. For gamers and creators planning future GPU or CPU upgrades, that could save a lot of time and effort.
The Thermaltake Dockpower FI series will be available in several wattage options, including 750W, 850W, 1,000W, and 1,200W models. All versions are 80 PLUS Gold certified, offering solid power efficiency for modern gaming PCs, workstations, and enthusiast builds.
The series also supports the latest PSU standards, including ATX 3.1 compatibility and PCIe Gen 5.1 support. That makes the Dockpower FI lineup suitable for newer graphics cards and high-performance components that require stable and efficient power delivery.
Thermaltake will offer the Dockpower FI PSUs in two color choices: black and Snow. This gives builders more flexibility when matching the power supply to their system theme, whether they are assembling a traditional black gaming rig or a bright white showcase PC.
Pricing and availability have not been announced yet. However, the Dockpower FI series looks like a practical step forward for PC builders who want easier installation, cleaner cable management, and a simpler upgrade path without the hassle of rebuilding their entire cable layout.
