Thermacell LIV 2.0 Mosquito Repellent System Expands Outdoor Protection to 3,000 Square Feet
Thermacell has introduced LIV 2.0, a redesigned mosquito repellent system built for larger outdoor spaces and smarter control. The new version delivers significantly more coverage than the earlier LIV 1.5 system, making it a stronger option for homeowners, patios, gardens, pool areas, restaurants, and other commercial outdoor settings.
The LIV 2.0 system starts at $1,746 for a setup that includes three repellent devices. While the price is higher than the previous generation, the upgraded coverage is a major selling point. Instead of protecting up to around 1,550 square feet, LIV 2.0 can cover as much as 3,000 square feet, giving users a wider mosquito-free zone for outdoor living and entertaining.
At the center of the system is a wall-mounted Smart Hub, which powers and manages the connected repellent units. Thermacell has improved this hub for LIV 2.0, allowing it to control up to 10 repellent devices instead of the previous limit of five. The repellent units can also be installed farther apart using low-voltage wiring, giving property owners more flexibility when designing coverage across larger yards, patios, or business spaces.
LIV 2.0 is registered with the United States Environmental Protection Agency and has been tested against disease-carrying mosquito species. Thermacell says the system also helps protect against no-see-ums and sand flies, including culicoides, making it useful in areas where small biting insects are a seasonal nuisance.
One of the biggest upgrades is the new LIV 2.0 app. Users can activate the system, create schedules, monitor performance, and check repellent refill levels directly from their phone. This makes it easier to prepare an outdoor space before guests arrive or keep protection running during peak mosquito hours.
The system also supports voice control through Amazon Alexa and Google Home, adding another layer of convenience for smart home users. Instead of relying on sprays, candles, smoke, or aerosols, LIV 2.0 is designed to provide automated mosquito protection with minimal effort.
Thermacell has also focused on durability. The repellent units use a cast aluminum design intended for long-term outdoor installation, allowing the system to remain in place throughout the year. For users who want a cleaner and more permanent alternative to traditional mosquito control methods, LIV 2.0 is positioned as a premium outdoor comfort upgrade.
With expanded coverage, app-based controls, voice assistant support, and a more capable hub, Thermacell LIV 2.0 aims to make patios, backyards, and commercial outdoor spaces more comfortable during mosquito season and beyond.
