In recent gaming tests, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra has outdone the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra in both performance and thermal management. During a Genshin Impact gaming test, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra not only performed better but also kept cooler and used less power in comparison to the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and other competitive flagship models from brands like OPPO and Vivo.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which was globally launched earlier this week, emerged as a superior gaming smartphone as per the results from testing performed by a Chinese media outlet. It recorded an average of 55.65 frames per second (FPS) in Genshin Impact, maintained an average power consumption of 4.948 watts, and reached a peak rear temperature of 44.4 degrees Celsius. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, in contrast, struggled to keep up with an average FPS of 53.58 at the same 720p resolution and incurred a higher average power consumption of 5.586 watts. It also ran hotter with a maximum rear temperature of 45.5 degrees Celsius.
These findings reveal a trend where the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra generally consumes more power while generating more heat than the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. However, it is important to point out that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is not the unrivaled leader in gaming performance among flagship smartphones. In similar gaming tests, it was surpassed by other high-end devices like the OPPO Find X7 Ultra, Vivo X100 Pro, and Honor Magic6 Pro.
Gamers looking for the most optimized phone for their mobile gaming sessions might want to consider these results when making their selection. Both the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra are impressive in their own right, but it is clear that each model has its own strengths and weaknesses when it comes to gaming capabilities.
