Sources with insider knowledge have revealed that a survey was conducted last December to gauge the preferences of the Cybertruck production team. This inquiry coincided with an announcement that some team members would be reassigned to work on the Model Y assembly line. Adding to the intrigue, other sources have confirmed Tesla’s intention to dial back on the Cybertruck’s production.
This survey followed a previously unanticipated break, when some Cybertruck assembly line workers were informed they would essentially be on furlough come December 2024. Thankfully for these workers, the production halt was brief, lasting just three days. However, shortly thereafter, a revised production schedule was unveiled.
Reports indicate that not enough workers from the Cybertruck team volunteered to switch to the Model Y production line. As a result, when the new schedule took effect in January, some were required to make the transition. Since Cybertruck production began in November 2023, there have been ongoing discussions about production inconsistencies, often attributed to disruptions in the battery supply chain.
