Tesla Revives Lifetime Free Supercharging Offer for Premium Cybertruck Buyers

In a bid to attract attention once again, Tesla has reopened its highly coveted free lifetime Supercharging offer. This initiative had been on pause for some time, causing a surge in value for second-hand Model S cars that included this perk. Previously, such models commanded prices significantly above the market average due to the added value of free Supercharging.

Earlier this year, in the third quarter, Tesla rolled out this promotion for a select period, targeting the Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X. However, it notably omitted the energy-intensive Cybertruck, which boasts Tesla’s largest battery capacity outside of its Semi truck.

As the initial three-month promotion concluded, Tesla reintroduced free lifetime Supercharging specifically for the Model S in the fourth quarter. This decision was warmly welcomed by previous owners, as it helped maintain and even enhance their car’s resale value. However, Tesla imposed more stringent conditions this time around, making the offer non-transferable to new owners or different vehicles.

More recently, Tesla extended the free Supercharging offer to its premium Cybertruck models, particularly focusing on those sitting unsold in its inventory as production of cheaper trims commenced. While this promo was initially set to expire at the year’s end, Tesla has decided to prolong it for an additional month due to persistent inventory of the Foundation Series Cybertrucks.

It’s worth noting, though, that Tesla’s generous offer comes with strings attached. The free Supercharging is linked solely to the vehicle owner’s Tesla account and cannot be transferred—not to another person, vehicle, or subsequent order, even if ownership changes hands. Additionally, the promotion excludes used vehicles, business orders, and cars used for commercial activities, like taxis or delivery services. Moreover, owners are still liable for Supercharger charges that include congestion or idle fees.

Tesla is concurrently offering additional promotions for its dual-motor and Cyberbeast models. These include a direct price reduction of over $2,000 on some non-Foundation Series Cybertrucks manufactured last year. However, the newer 2025 batches now qualify for the full $7,500 federal tax credit, which may incentivize buyers to opt for them and endure a short waiting period rather than making an immediate showroom purchase.

Decisions regarding the Foundation Cybertrucks require careful consideration. They come equipped with features valued at the $20,000 price difference, such as Full Self-Driving (FSD) capabilities and several accessories, in addition to free lifetime Supercharging. This feature alone can yield significant savings over the lifespan of this electric pickup, which is powered by a hefty 123 kWH 4680 battery pack.
