Tecno Camon 40 Series Unveiled: Fresh Design and Exclusive 4G Connectivity

Tecno is gearing up to unveil its next-generation Camon-series smartphones, marking a departure from the design of its predecessors. Unlike the OnePlus 13-esque appearance of the Camon 30 5G, the upcoming series will feature a triple rear camera setup arranged vertically. This design shift brings the Camon 40 series closer in appearance to the Samsung Galaxy S24 range, showcasing a unique asymmetrical two-toned design on their rear panels as revealed by recent Federal Communications Commission (FCC) listings.

According to these listings, the new Tecno smartphones identified as the CM5 and CM6 will support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and 4G/LTE, with no provision for 5G connectivity. This suggests that these models are positioned to launch as the Camon 40 and Camon 40 Pro, respectively.

It’s worth noting that despite the design overhaul, the series is opting for foundational enhancements rather than high-end specifications. The battery capacity for these models is reportedly capped at 5,200mAh, coupled with 45W wired charging capabilities—a conservative choice given Tecno’s existing 70W charging technology.

Speculation around the series suggests the presence of more variants, potentially named the CM7 and CM8, which might succeed the 30 Pro 5G and Premier 5G models. However, these have yet to make an appearance in the FCC database, keeping the full lineup under wraps for now.

As Tecno navigates the competitive smartphone landscape, these strategic adjustments in design and features hint at a careful balancing act between aesthetics and functionality, designed to appeal to a broad spectrum of consumers.
