TCL has expanded its home entertainment lineup in the UK with the TCL Projector C1, a portable smart projector designed for easy, go-anywhere movie nights. Positioned as a more affordable option, the C1 combines built-in streaming, battery power, and quick automatic setup features—making it a practical pick for bedrooms, dorms, or taking to a friend’s house.
At its core, the TCL Projector C1 is an LCD projector with a native 1080p resolution and support for playing 4K content. It uses a fully sealed optical engine and is rated at up to 230 ISO lumens, which means it’s best suited to darker rooms rather than bright living spaces. TCL says it can project an image from 40 to 120 inches, with a 1.27:1 throw ratio and a 1,200:1 contrast ratio—ideal for creating a big-screen experience without needing a permanently installed setup.
One of the biggest perks for everyday use is the projector’s automatic image adjustment tools. TCL includes auto display correction features such as automatic focus, keystone correction, screen fit, and obstacle avoidance. In real-world terms, this is meant to reduce the hassle of manually tweaking the picture every time you move the projector, helping you get a properly aligned image faster.
For streaming and smart features, the TCL C1 ships with Google TV, giving you access to popular apps and a familiar interface. It also supports Google Assistant voice commands and Chromecast, making it easy to cast content wirelessly from a phone, tablet, or compatible device. TCL notes that the projector is Netflix-certified, which is a key detail for buyers who want smooth access to Netflix without workarounds.
Audio is handled by an integrated 8W speaker with Dolby Audio support, so you can watch without immediately needing external speakers. And because portability is a major focus here, TCL built in a 60Wh battery along with an adjustable angle stand, allowing you to set it up on a table and angle it toward a wall or screen without extra accessories.
Connectivity includes HDMI, USB-A, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, plus Wi‑Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1 for wireless connections. The projector comes in a gray casing and measures 138.4 x 145.2 x 230.7 mm, weighing around 1.8 kg (3.9 lbs), keeping it compact enough to move around the home or pack up for travel.
