Swatch and Audemars Piguet Unveil Royal Pop Pocket Watch in Eight Bold New Colors

The long-anticipated Swatch x Audemars Piguet Royal Pop is now officially available worldwide, and it’s arriving with a twist that’s turning heads in the watch world. If you’re expecting another wristwatch collaboration, here’s the surprise: Royal Pop is a pocket watch collection.

Swatch and Audemars Piguet are launching eight distinct pocket watches designed for modern, flexible wear. Each piece can be slipped into a pocket, clipped to a bag for a statement accessory moment, or placed into a removable stand so it can double as a desk clock. It’s a playful, design-forward approach that blends classic pocket watch charm with contemporary lifestyle versatility.

Two Royal Pop styles: Lepine and Savonnette

The Swatch x AP Royal Pop collection comes in two main variants, each with its own look and layout.

1) Lepine-style pocket watch
This version features a crown positioned at 12 o’clock and keeps things clean with hour-and-minute display only. There are six Lepine models in total, each leaning into bold color pairing and graphic details:

Orenji Hachi: Navy case with orange/red screws for a sporty, high-contrast look
Otto Rosso: Pink case and dial with a red bezel for a vibrant, pop-art feel
Huit Blanc: White case, dial, and bezel accented by rainbow-colored indices and screws
Green Eight: Lime-green bezel matched with a green case and dial
Ocho Negro: Black dial and case contrasted by a white bezel and indices

2) Savonnette-style pocket watch
The Savonnette version shifts the crown to 3 o’clock and adds a small seconds display at 6 o’clock, giving it a slightly more traditional pocket watch personality with an extra functional detail. This style is available in two models:

Lan Ba: A mix of light blue and mid-blue tones
Otg Roz: A colorful blend of pink, yellow, and teal

Sistem51 power and long reserve

Beyond the design, the Royal Pop pocket watches are powered by Swatch’s Sistem51 movement. It’s built to be practical and modern, offering an estimated 90-hour power reserve. The movement also includes an antimagnetic Nivachron hairspring, plus factory laser-based precision adjustment, which helps maintain consistent timekeeping.
