Stripe Co-Founder’s Request Leads to New Google Calendar Feature

Talking about responsive customer service, Google CEO Sundar Pichai recently announced a new feature for Google Calendar, all thanks to a request from Stripe co-founder John Collison. Last month, Collison suggested an enhancement on X: a Ctrl-click option to easily duplicate calendar events, similar to features in many native calendar apps.

On July 5, Collison tagged Pichai in his post, seeking this convenient addition. Fast forward to today, and Google Calendar now includes the feature, as confirmed by Pichai. He stated, “This feature is now live for everyone on Google Calendar on the web — thanks for the suggestion!”

It’s not every day that a CEO directly responds to individual user requests and implements them. This delightful interaction prompted other users to humorously urge Collison to address their own needs. For instance, Box CEO Aaron Levie jokingly requested Collison’s assistance with improving Waymo’s service on the famously congested El Camino Real in Silicon Valley.

This engaging back-and-forth not only highlights exceptional customer engagement but also adds a touch of humor to the digital landscape.
