The latest buzz in the electric dirt bike scene is the launch of Talaria MX5 Pro, a high-performance trail bike that promises an exhilarating ride. This newest model features a significant upgrade with a 72 V 40 Ah battery, capable of powering the bike to speeds over 50 mph, alongside larger MX-style brake calipers for better control and stopping power.
The MX5 Pro addresses demands from e-bike enthusiasts and vendors by incorporating several key upgrades from its predecessor. The new battery is a noteworthy improvement with 45% more capacity than the previous model, MX4, which translates to enhanced power and extended range. Additionally, the redesigned brake system includes larger pads, ensuring more robust braking power, crucial for high-speed off-road riding. The bike also boasts a heavy-duty 428 chain, touted to be twice as strong as the MX4’s 420 chain, contributing to its rugged durability.
Riders will notice the enhanced comfort with a thicker and better-padded seat. Furthermore, the bike now offers three power levels instead of two, giving riders more control over their riding experience. The front and rear suspension systems have also been revamped, promising a smoother ride even on tough terrains.
One of the standout features in the MX5 Pro is its improved IPM (Interior Permanent Magnet) motor. This motor addresses previous reliability concerns by ditching the issues-prone Hall sensors in favor of a magnetic encoder, boosting both efficiency and reliability.
However, it’s important to note that while the MX5 Pro has the potential to exceed 50 mph, it comes factory-limited to speeds between 20 to 25 mph to comply with various laws. Riders who choose to remove this limiter do so at their own risk, as the company does not recommend such modifications.
For those eager to get their hands on this powerhouse, the Talaria MX5 Pro is available at an introductory price of $4,700, which includes free shipping within the continental US and Hawaii. This competitive pricing, together with its impressive features, makes the MX5 Pro a strong contender in the electric dirt bike market.
