Soulslinger: Envoy of Death

Soulslinger: Envoy of Death Brings Its Supernatural Gunslinging to Consoles This February

Headup Games and developer Elder Games are bringing Soulslinger: Envoy of Death to consoles next month, giving PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players a chance to step into its gritty, supernatural gunfights. The roguelite first-person shooter launches on February 19.

If you missed it on PC, Soulslinger: Envoy of Death began life in early access in February 2023 before reaching its full release in April 2025. Now the Weird West action is headed to home consoles, packaged for players who want fast runs, big builds, and a story that keeps pulling you back for “one more attempt.”

Set in a stylized western-fantasy afterlife, the game drops you into the boots of a gunslinger trapped beyond the grave. Your job is simple on paper: collect souls and earn Death’s favor. In practice, Limbo is a hostile, shifting underworld where every run becomes a high-speed shootout against undead outlaws, swarming enemies, and tougher elite threats that can end a promising attempt in seconds.

What helps Soulslinger stand out in the crowded roguelite FPS space is its story focus. As you fight your way through the underworld, you’ll clash with The Cartel, a sinister organization that refuses to die even after death. Between the quick-trigger combat and the ever-changing room sequences, you’ll uncover more about your past life and why you ended up answering Death’s call in the first place. The narrative is designed to react to what you do during runs, weaving progression and choice into the roguelike loop rather than treating the plot as an afterthought.

Combat revolves around crafting deadly guns, stacking power-ups, and shaping your character through a deep upgrade system. The result is a flexible build sandbox: you can lean into raw firepower, survivability, or a playstyle that thrives on smart improvisation when the game throws a brutal room layout your way. Expect waves of enemies, plenty of “gun fodder” to mow down, and elevated encounters that demand sharper aim and better decision-making.

With its Weird West vibe, rapid-fire action, and run-based progression wrapped around a responsive story, Soulslinger: Envoy of Death is positioned as a strong pick for players looking for a console roguelite shooter with personality. It arrives February 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
