Sony Reveals Two Limited-Edition GTA 6 DualSense Controllers for PS5
Sony is leaning into the massive excitement surrounding Grand Theft Auto VI with the reveal of two limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers for PlayStation 5. The new GTA 6-themed controllers were introduced during Sony’s latest State of Play showcase, where they appeared alongside several current and upcoming PlayStation titles.
The collection includes two designs: the DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI White Limited Edition and the DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition. Both are inspired by the atmosphere of Vice City, but each controller captures a different side of Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated open-world blockbuster.
The White Limited Edition takes its visual cues from Vice City in daylight. It features a clean white base with soft pastel accents that reflect the city’s beaches, blue skies, warm sunsets, and sun-soaked streets. The overall look is bright, tropical, and stylish, making it a strong choice for players who want a controller that feels closely tied to GTA 6’s daytime setting.
The Black Limited Edition, on the other hand, is designed around Vice City after dark. It uses a deeper color scheme with neon-inspired details, giving it a nighttime aesthetic that matches the city’s clubs, lights, highways, and electric nightlife. It is the more dramatic of the two designs and will likely appeal to collectors who prefer a sleeker, more premium look.
Both GTA 6 DualSense controllers feature a shimmering, color-shifting finish that blends the warm tones of a Vice City sunset with the glow of neon lights. Sony has also added molded palm tree details directly into the controller shell, giving the design a tactile element rather than relying only on printed graphics. Official GTA 6 branding is included as well, making these controllers stand out as collector-focused accessories.
Under the custom design, these are standard DualSense wireless controllers. That means players still get the familiar PS5 features, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Sony says both technologies will react dynamically to moments throughout GTA 6, which could make driving, shooting, weather effects, and environmental interactions feel more immersive on PlayStation 5.
The reveal arrives as interest in GTA 6 hardware and accessories continues to surge. Rockstar Games has already confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will include PS5 Pro-specific enhancements, although the exact details of those upgrades have not yet been fully explained. Even so, demand for PS5 Pro consoles reportedly climbed sharply after the latest extended GTA 6 presentation, with some resellers asking far above the console’s regular retail price.
The new GTA 6 DualSense controllers may become difficult to find as well. Sony plans to sell the White Limited Edition in limited quantities through PlayStation Direct and select retailers worldwide. The Black Limited Edition will be even more restricted, as it will only be sold through PlayStation Direct in supported regions.
Given the enormous anticipation for Grand Theft Auto VI, both controller variants are expected to attract strong demand from players, collectors, and fans of the franchise. Limited-edition PlayStation accessories often sell out quickly, and GTA 6 branding could make these two controllers especially desirable.
Pre-orders for both the White Limited Edition and Black Limited Edition GTA 6 DualSense controllers begin on September 10 at 10:00 AM local time in most regions. In the United States, PlayStation Direct pre-orders open at 7:00 AM PT and 10:00 AM ET.
Both controllers are scheduled to launch on November 19, the same day as GTA 6. Pricing is set at $84.99 in the United States, €84.99 in Europe, £74.99 in the United Kingdom, and ¥12,480 in Japan.
