Solo Leveling: Arise June Update Adds Liu Zhigang, Buster Class, New Weapons, and Redeem Codes
The June update for Solo Leveling: Arise is one of the game’s biggest shake-ups yet, bringing a powerful new SSR hunter, a fresh combat class, new endgame content, quality-of-life improvements, and additional rewards for players to claim.
The star of the update is Liu Zhigang, China’s strongest hunter, who joins the roster as a Fire-attribute SSR character. His arrival gives players a new high-damage option for late-game raids and difficult boss fights, especially for teams built around aggressive burst damage.
Liu Zhigang is designed around his reputation as a weapon master. Instead of relying on one fixed fighting style, he shifts between multiple weapons during combat, including twin blades, spears, bows, and greatswords. This makes his attack chains feel fast, flexible, and visually intense. One of his standout skills, Hidden Dragon, lets him surge forward while dealing heavy damage and pushing through incoming ranged attacks, making him especially useful in high-pressure battles.
The update also introduces the new Buster class, a major addition that changes how some encounters are played. Unlike traditional roles that focus on shields or defensive breaks, Buster characters build up damage while enemies are in immune phases. Once that immunity ends, they unleash a powerful burst attack. This mechanic is clearly aimed at refreshing the current Solo Leveling: Arise meta and giving players new strategies for bosses with phase-based defenses.
To support Liu Zhigang and the new Buster playstyle, the update adds a dedicated artifact set called Surtur’s Flame. When equipped as a full eight-piece set, it boosts attack and defense while increasing elemental weakness damage. However, the set is locked to Buster characters, meaning Sung Jinwoo cannot take advantage of its bonuses. This makes Surtur’s Flame a specialized gear option for players who want to maximize Buster-class damage output.
Another major change is the removal of resource costs for summoning shadow companions during active battles. This quality-of-life improvement should make daily play feel smoother, especially for players who previously had to manage resources carefully just to keep their damage consistent. With summoning fees removed, shadow companions become easier to use regularly, helping reduce one of the more frustrating parts of progression.
The June update also expands the story and endgame content. Chapters 32 through 34 are now available in both hard and reverse hard modes, giving veteran players more challenges to clear. Players who have reached battle class 85 can also enter a new high-level workshop dungeon called The First Land, which is designed for stronger teams and more advanced builds.
Sung Jinwoo receives new support as well, with two additional wind-attribute weapons added to improve his elemental coverage. These weapons should help players prepare for tougher encounters where wind damage is valuable, especially in late-game stages and dungeon content.
With Liu Zhigang, the Buster class, new artifacts, expanded story missions, and improved shadow companion mechanics, the Solo Leveling: Arise June update delivers a major refresh for both casual players and endgame grinders. It gives longtime fans more reasons to log in daily while opening up new team-building options for high-level raids and future content.
