Qualcomm’s rumored Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro could bring a major graphics upgrade with AI Frame Fusion, a new upscaling and frame generation feature designed to improve mobile gaming performance while keeping power consumption under control. If the latest information is accurate, this technology may become one of the key differences between the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro and the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6.

The feature is expected to be exclusive to the Pro version because of dedicated hardware inside the higher-end chip. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro is rumored to use an Adreno 850 GPU with two Matrix ALU blocks built into its shader processor. These hardware blocks are reportedly missing from the regular Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, which could explain why the standard model may not support AI Frame Fusion.

AI Frame Fusion sounds like Qualcomm’s answer to modern upscaling and frame generation technologies used in PC gaming. According to the latest details, the feature may offer two main modes.
