Qualcomm’s next flagship mobile chipset is already generating buzz ahead of its official launch, and an early benchmark leak suggests it could bring a meaningful performance jump for premium Android phones.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro is expected to lead Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 lineup, with the company reportedly preparing to introduce its new flagship chips next month. While the chipset has not been officially detailed yet, a fresh AnTuTu benchmark listing shared on Weibo by well-known tipster Digital Chat Station offers an early glimpse at what the platform may be capable of.
According to the leaked benchmark, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro achieved an overall AnTuTu score of 4,835,412. That would place it noticeably ahead of current Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered devices and suggests an approximate 15% improvement over the highest-scoring model currently seen in AnTuTu rankings, the iQOO 15 Ultra.
The performance gains appear even more impressive when looking beyond the total score. The leaked result shows a CPU score of 1,368,930 for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. By comparison, the iQOO 15 Ultra posts a CPU score of 1,122,249. If accurate, that points to a roughly 22% uplift in CPU performance from one generation to the next.
Graphics performance also appears to be getting a major boost. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro reportedly scored 1,854,826 in the GPU portion of the test, compared with 1,529,132 for the iQOO 15 Ultra. That works out to around a 21% improvement, which could be especially important for mobile gaming, high-refresh-rate displays, advanced camera processing, and AI-powered visual workloads.
These numbers suggest Qualcomm may be focusing on both raw processing power and graphics performance with its upcoming flagship chip. If the leaked benchmark reflects real-world improvements, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro could become one of the most powerful smartphone chipsets of its generation.
That said, early benchmark leaks should always be treated with caution. The iQOO 15 Ultra is already one of the strongest-performing Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 devices, so it may not represent the average performance level of the current generation. Against some other flagship phones using the same existing chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro could appear even further ahead, with the leaked scores showing gains of more than 25% in certain comparisons.
It is also unclear what device was used for the test, what cooling setup was involved, or whether the chip was running in a performance-focused engineering mode. Benchmark scores can vary widely depending on thermal design, software tuning, memory configuration, and testing conditions.
Another important detail is that the result has not yet been verified through AnTuTu’s official database. AnTuTu’s own Weibo account has reportedly noted that the listing is not currently uploaded to its database, meaning the score should not be considered confirmed at this stage.
Still, if the leak is close to accurate, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro could deliver one of Qualcomm’s most notable year-over-year performance upgrades in recent flagship history. With stronger CPU output, a faster GPU, and likely improvements in AI processing and efficiency, the chipset may set the stage for a new wave of high-end Android smartphones in the coming months.
For now, all eyes are on Qualcomm’s official announcement, where the company is expected to reveal the full specifications, performance claims, and feature upgrades of its next Snapdragon 8-series flagship platform.
