Shenhuo New Materials Introduces Revolutionary 8-Micron Battery Foil with Impressive 100-Ton Monthly Output

Shenhuo New Materials Technology, a leading Chinese manufacturer, has achieved a remarkable milestone by commencing the mass production of an ultra-thin, 8-micron double-sided photovoltaic cell foil. This innovation represents the slimmest battery foil currently being mass-produced in China, marking a significant breakthrough in the battery component industry.

This ultra-thin foil is an essential component in lithium-ion batteries, serving as a current collector that efficiently gathers and transmits electrical currents across circuits. According to Mao Yunfeng, the Deputy General Manager of Shenhuo New Materials, reducing the thickness of the foil enhances the battery’s energy density and optimizes its overall performance.

Designed for use in high-end applications, the 8-micron foil offers superior conductivity and stability, making it ideal for batteries used in mobile devices, 3C electronics, and robotics. Its development underlines Shenhuo’s commitment to revolutionizing battery technology with improved efficiency and reliability.

Impressively, Shenhuo New Materials boasts substantial production capabilities, with annual outputs including 140,000 tons of battery and double-zero foil, 180,000 tons of cast-rolled foil, and 150,000 tons of cold-rolled foil. They are also enhancing their capacity to produce battery foil billets, targeting an annual production of 110,000 tons.

The company has ambitious plans to continue developing even thinner aluminum foil products, aiming to elevate China’s standing in the global aluminum foil manufacturing industry. This continuous innovation not only bolsters domestic advancements but also strengthens China’s competitive edge on the international stage.
