Samsung Electro-Mechanics (Semco) has closed 2025 on a high note, posting its strongest yearly performance yet. The company reported record annual revenue of about KRW 11.31 trillion (around US$7.79 billion), representing roughly 10% growth compared to the previous year. The big driver behind the surge: booming demand tied to artificial intelligence and data center expansion.
At the center of Semco’s momentum are multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs), essential components used to stabilize power and ensure reliable performance in advanced electronics. As AI workloads spread across cloud infrastructure and enterprise computing, servers are being upgraded and built out at a rapid pace—pushing demand higher for high-performance, server-grade MLCCs. Semco benefited from this trend as AI-related server demand continued to strengthen through 2025.
This result highlights a broader market shift: as AI systems grow more power-hungry and complex, the supporting hardware ecosystem—from servers to high-reliability electronic components—becomes increasingly valuable. For Semco, the combination of strong AI adoption and rising server investment translated into a meaningful revenue jump and a record-breaking year.
With AI spending and data center buildouts expected to remain a priority across industries, Semco’s performance in 2025 positions the company to stay in focus as a key supplier supporting next-generation computing infrastructure.
