Seiko Unveils a Limited-Edition Mechanical Watch with Timeless White-Dial Charm

Seiko x TicTAC HZB002J Arrives With a Vintage White Dial and Classic Mechanical Charm

Seiko has joined forces once again with Japanese watch retailer TiCTAC to introduce a new limited-edition mechanical watch, the Seiko x TiCTAC HZB002J. Set to launch in Japan on October 24, this latest release continues the collaboration’s reputation for delivering stylish, enthusiast-friendly watches with a strong vintage personality.

The HZB002J stands out with a creamy off-white dial that avoids the sharpness of a pure white finish. Instead, the color has a softer, warmer tone that changes subtly depending on the light, giving the watch a more aged and characterful appearance. It is a smart choice for collectors who appreciate vintage-inspired watches but still want the reliability and practicality of a modern Seiko automatic.

The dial layout keeps the familiar design language seen in earlier Seiko x TiCTAC collaborations. Large printed Arabic numerals at 6 and 12 o’clock are paired with clean baton hour markers, creating a balanced field-watch-meets-dress-watch aesthetic. The open style of the numerals adds a classic touch, while the railroad minute track around the edge of the dial enhances the retro feel.

Adding to the vintage appeal is the use of warm, creamy lume on the markers. This faux-aged luminous paint is designed to resemble the patina found on older watches from past decades, giving the HZB002J a nostalgic look straight out of the box. The black cathedral-style hands further strengthen that old-school character, while the arrow-tipped seconds hand adds a sporty finishing detail.

A date window is positioned at 3 o’clock, keeping the watch practical for everyday wear. The Seiko logo sits cleanly below 12 o’clock, maintaining a simple and uncluttered dial design.

The watch comes in a stainless steel case measuring 40mm in diameter, 48mm lug-to-lug, and 11mm thick. These dimensions make it versatile enough for daily use, offering enough wrist presence without feeling oversized. The case combines brushed surfaces on the tops of the lugs with polished sides and a smooth polished bezel, giving it a refined but durable look.

A curved Hardlex crystal protects the dial and adds to the vintage-inspired profile. Seiko has also included drilled lug holes, making it easier for owners to change straps. While the watch comes fitted with a solid brushed three-link stainless steel bracelet, its classic styling should also work well with leather, canvas, or nylon straps.

Inside the HZB002J is Seiko’s automatic 4R35 movement, a dependable mechanical caliber commonly used across many of the brand’s affordable automatic watches. It offers hacking seconds, hand-winding capability, and a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. The movement is visible through an exhibition caseback, allowing wearers to enjoy the mechanical movement in action.

The watch also offers 100 meters of water resistance, making it suitable for daily wear and light outdoor use. Combined with its automatic movement, solid case, practical size, and versatile design, the Seiko x TiCTAC HZB002J is positioned as an attractive option for fans of affordable mechanical watches.

The Seiko x TiCTAC HZB002J is priced at ¥55,000, which is roughly around $350. It will be available through TiCTAC stores and the retailer’s official online shop in Japan. Although this is a Japan domestic market release, international buyers may still be able to purchase it through overseas shipping services offered by the retailer.

With its off-white dial, aged lume, cathedral hands, and reliable Seiko automatic movement, the HZB002J looks set to become another highly desirable limited-edition release. For collectors searching for a vintage-inspired Seiko mechanical watch with everyday practicality, this Japan-exclusive model is likely to attract plenty of attention.
