SBC35-474 Brings Windows-Ready Industrial Computing With Dual Displays and M.2 Expansion

Winsystems SBC35-474 Debuts as a Rugged Industrial Single-Board Computer With DDR5, Windows 11 IoT, and 2.5GbE

Winsystems has introduced the SBC35-474, a new industrial single-board computer designed for reliable operation in demanding environments. Built for embedded systems, automation, edge computing, and outdoor industrial deployments, the board combines modern Intel Atom processing, DDR5 memory, flexible expansion options, and support for Windows 11 IoT.

Although it is described as a rugged SBC, this does not mean it is rugged in the same way as a waterproof or shockproof consumer device. Instead, the term refers to its ability to operate in harsh industrial conditions. The SBC35-474 is rated for temperatures from -40°C to 85°C, making it suitable for use in uncooled outdoor cabinets, factory equipment, transportation systems, and other environments where standard computers may struggle.

The board measures 146 x 102 mm, making it larger and more specialized than hobby-focused single-board computers. Its target audience is clearly industrial users, system integrators, and businesses that need long-term reliability rather than a low-cost development board.

Depending on the configuration, the SBC35-474 can be equipped with an Intel Atom x7211RE, x7433RE, or x7835RE processor. The highest-end version includes eight processing cores and operates with a 12-watt TDP. For stable performance, especially in warmer environments or enclosed installations, a heat sink is recommended.

The system supports both Ubuntu and Windows 11 IoT, giving developers and industrial customers flexibility when building embedded applications. Memory options include 8 GB or 16 GB of DDR5 RAM, while onboard storage comes in the form of 128 GB eMMC. For users who need more storage capacity or faster performance, expansion is available through multiple M.2 slots.

The SBC35-474 includes three M.2 slots in total. An M.2 2280 slot supports SSDs through either SATA or NVMe, making it possible to add high-speed storage for data logging, industrial control software, or edge computing workloads. An M.2 2230 slot is designed for a wireless module, while another M.2 slot can be used to add cellular connectivity with SIM card support. This makes the board especially useful for remote installations where wired networking is not always practical.

Networking is another major strength of the SBC35-474. It includes two Ethernet ports, each supporting speeds of up to 2.5 Gbit/s. Dual high-speed Ethernet can be valuable in industrial automation, machine monitoring, robotics, surveillance, and gateway applications where fast and stable communication is essential.

Display support is also extensive. The board can run up to three displays at the same time using HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort, and eDP. The eDP interface is available through a 40-pin connector, allowing integration with embedded display panels. This flexibility makes the board suitable for control panels, kiosks, human-machine interfaces, and digital signage systems.

For connecting external devices, sensors, and industrial equipment, the SBC35-474 provides 10 GPIO pins and two serial ports. These features allow the board to communicate with machinery, collect status data, control actuators, or serve as a bridge between legacy industrial hardware and modern networked systems.

USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 support is also included, so users can connect peripherals such as keyboards, mice, cameras, storage devices, or diagnostic tools. This makes setup, maintenance, and on-site operation easier, particularly in industrial environments where direct access may be needed during installation or troubleshooting.

Pricing for the SBC35-474 has not been publicly announced, which is common for business-focused industrial computing products. Availability and cost will likely depend on configuration, order volume, and project requirements.

With its wide temperature range, Intel Atom processor options, DDR5 memory, triple-display support, dual 2.5GbE networking, M.2 expansion, and Windows 11 IoT compatibility, the Winsystems SBC35-474 is positioned as a capable industrial single-board computer for companies building reliable embedded systems in challenging environments.
