Sapphire has introduced a new limited-edition graphics card for AMD Radeon fans, and it arrives with a design aimed squarely at gamers who enjoy dark fantasy worlds and premium PC hardware. The new Sapphire NITRO+ Radeon RX 9070 XT OC Valor Mortis edition blends the company’s high-end cooling design with artwork inspired by the upcoming Soulslike RPG Valor Mortis.
The launch comes at a time when graphics card prices remain a concern for many PC builders. Even so, new custom GPU releases continue to attract attention, especially when they offer more than just a standard reference design. Sapphire’s latest card stands out by adding a themed backplate, refined cable management, ARGB lighting, and a premium NITRO+ build.
The Sapphire NITRO+ Radeon RX 9070 XT OC Valor Mortis edition is based on the existing NITRO+ Radeon RX 9070 XT OC model. That means buyers can expect the same enthusiast-focused foundation, including a triple-fan cooling system and Sapphire’s TRI-X cooling technology. The cooler is designed to improve airflow, maintain strong thermal performance, and support stable gaming performance during long sessions.
Visually, the card keeps the grey-toned shroud and sturdy box-like frame seen on the standard NITRO+ model, but the Valor Mortis version adds a unique custom backplate inspired by the game’s dark RPG setting. The backplate is also magnetic, making installation and removal easier while giving users better access when connecting cables.
One of the more practical design touches is the hidden power connector positioned beneath the backplate. This helps keep cable routing cleaner, which is especially useful for gamers building showcase PCs with tempered glass panels. For users who care about a tidy setup, this design should make the finished build look more polished.
Sapphire has also included an integrated ARGB LED bar on the card. The lighting can be controlled through the company’s TriXX software, allowing users to customize effects and match the GPU with the rest of their gaming PC’s lighting theme.
While Sapphire has not shared full specification details for the Valor Mortis edition, it is expected to closely match the regular NITRO+ Radeon RX 9070 XT OC. That would mean a boost clock of up to 3060 MHz, 4096 stream processors, and 16 GB of GDDR6 memory running across a 256-bit memory bus. The card is rated at 330W, so users will need a capable power supply to support it properly.
The graphics card is also reportedly set to include a free copy of Valor Mortis, giving the themed edition extra appeal for players planning to pick up the game when it launches on October 13.
Pricing and availability have not yet been confirmed. With GPU prices still unpredictable, the success of this special edition will likely depend on how close its price stays to the standard NITRO+ Radeon RX 9070 XT OC. If Sapphire manages to keep the premium reasonable, the Valor Mortis edition could become an attractive option for gamers looking for a powerful AMD Radeon graphics card with a distinctive design.
