Samsung is gearing up to launch its first tri-fold smartphone, potentially named the Galaxy Z TriFold, later this year. Initially rumored to be called the Galaxy G Fold, recent insights suggest the new name. Leaks point to the smartphone being powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, though the exact model wasn’t specified until now.
In the latest internal beta for One UI 8, a code string was uncovered by Android Authority indicating “siop_q7mq_sm8750,” where “q7mq” is believed to be the codename for the tri-fold device. The “sm8750” corresponds to the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
The Galaxy Z TriFold is expected to boast a 10-inch inner display, akin to the 10.2-inch screen found on Huawei’s Mate XT, which was the market’s first tri-fold smartphone. Additionally, its camera setup is likely to mirror that of the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Anticipated for release in the fourth quarter of 2025, the Z TriFold’s availability may be limited, initially launching in Korea and China. The expected price is around KRW 4 million, approximately 2,880 USD. However, these details are speculative at this time.
