The tech community has witnessed the arrival of Samsung’s Exynos 2400 processor, notable for its use in various models of the new Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus, particularly in markets outside the U.S. The latest benchmarks suggest that the Galaxy S24 FE, Samsung’s more budget-friendly version of its flagship line, will also be equipped with the Exynos 2400 chip. Despite recording benchmark scores that fall short of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the Exynos 2400 promises a blend of impressive features that could attract potential users.
Recent benchmark findings have revealed single-core and multi-core scores for the Exynos 2400: 2,047 and 6,289 respectively. Samsung appears poised to leverage this chipset for the global versions of the Galaxy S24 FE partly due to economic reasons, since manufacturing the Exynos 2400 in-house is more cost-effective compared to the Snapdragon counterpart. With the model number SM-S721B, the Galaxy S24 FE featuring this chip is likely to be released in multiple regions excluding the U.S. The benchmark tests also show that the phone runs on Android 14.
Nevertheless, there’s an apparent move by Samsung to economize by equipping the device with 8GB of RAM, which, in the context of 2024, might be seen as somewhat inadequate for a device positioned within the high-end marketplace. Whether Samsung plans to introduce models with larger memory remains uncertain at this point.
Despite the RAM limitations, the Exynos 2400’s technological characteristics such as its adoption of Fan-Out Wafer-Level Packaging (FOWLP) hint at an SoC designed for sustained performance, which could, in turn, translate to a device that maintains its operational efficiency without frequent performance drops.
Initial evaluations indicate that the Exynos 2400 sustains performance stably, rivaling the likes of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and even Apple’s A17 Pro in certain aspects. This positions the processor as a promising contender in the mobile chipset arena.
While the precise release date for the Galaxy S24 FE is yet to be announced, speculation suggests it might debut following the anticipated launch of Samsung’s upcoming foldable models, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Prospective buyers and tech enthusiasts will undoubtedly be watching closely to assess the real-world performance of the Galaxy S24 FE and its Exynos processor when it hits the market.
