Samsung Wallet Unlocks Select Toyota Vehicles With Digital Key Support, Debuting on the 2026 RAV4

Samsung Wallet is expanding its Digital Key lineup again, and Toyota owners are next in line. Starting with select 2026 Toyota RAV4 models, Samsung Galaxy users will be able to create a Digital Key in Samsung Wallet and use their phone to lock, unlock, and start the vehicle—no physical key required.

Samsung launched Samsung Wallet a few years ago as a secure hub for everyday essentials such as payment methods, identification cards, and Digital Keys. While the Digital Key feature has been available for a while, support has grown gradually, with only a handful of automakers added over time. After adding compatibility for select models from other major car brands in recent years, 2026 begins with Toyota joining the list, led by the popular RAV4.

According to the announcement, Digital Key support for the 2026 Toyota RAV4 will begin rolling out this month across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. A broader expansion is also planned for Europe, timed with the availability of supported Toyota vehicles in each market. Countries listed for the European rollout include Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

To use Toyota Digital Key in Samsung Wallet, owners will need a compatible Samsung Galaxy smartphone that supports both Ultra Wideband (UWB) and Near Field Communication (NFC). With the right phone and a supported RAV4 model, drivers can add the vehicle to Samsung Wallet and handle key functions directly from their device, including locking, unlocking, and starting the car.

Samsung Wallet’s Digital Key setup is also designed for real-world convenience, especially for families and shared vehicles. Users can share access with trusted contacts, making it easy for multiple drivers in the same household to use the RAV4 without handing off a physical key. Permissions can be changed at any time, and access can be revoked whenever needed.

Security is a major part of the experience. Samsung Wallet requires biometric authentication or a PIN, and Digital Keys are stored locally on the device and protected by Samsung Knox. If a phone is lost, users can remotely lock or delete the Digital Key using Samsung Find, helping prevent unauthorized access.

With Toyota now onboard—starting with the 2026 RAV4—Samsung Wallet’s Digital Key feature is becoming more compelling for drivers who want the simplicity of carrying fewer physical items while keeping strong security and control over who can access their vehicle.
