Samsung Unveils New Galaxy M Series Smartphone With Massive 6,000mAh Battery

Samsung Galaxy M47 5G Debuts With 6,000mAh Battery, 120Hz AMOLED Display, and Long-Term Android Updates

Samsung has added a new model to its popular Galaxy M lineup with the launch of the Galaxy M47 5G in India. Designed for users who want a feature-packed smartphone without moving into flagship pricing, the new Galaxy M-series device brings a large AMOLED display, a massive battery, fast charging, 5G performance, and an extended software support promise.

The Galaxy M47 5G features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels. The screen supports a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, making scrolling, gaming, and everyday navigation feel more fluid. Samsung has also equipped the display with up to 1,400 nits peak brightness, which should help with outdoor visibility in bright conditions.

For added durability, the phone uses Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection, a welcome addition in this price segment. This makes the Galaxy M47 5G more appealing to users who want a phone that can better handle daily wear and accidental scratches.

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy M47 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. This processor includes four Arm Cortex-A78 performance cores and four Arm Cortex-A55 efficiency cores, offering a balance between power and battery efficiency. Whether users are switching between apps, streaming videos, browsing social media, or playing casual games, the device is positioned to deliver reliable day-to-day performance.

Samsung is offering the phone with 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM, paired with 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Users who need more space for photos, videos, apps, and files can expand the storage with a microSD card of up to 2TB.

For photography, the Galaxy M47 5G comes with a triple rear camera setup. The main camera uses a 50MP sensor, accompanied by a 5MP ultra-wide camera for wider shots and a 2MP macro sensor for close-up photography. On the front, the phone includes a 12MP selfie camera for video calls, selfies, and social media content.

One of the biggest highlights of the Galaxy M47 5G is its 6,000mAh battery. This large battery should make the device attractive to heavy users who want longer screen time, fewer charging breaks, and dependable all-day usage. The phone supports 45W fast charging, allowing users to recharge faster when needed.

Samsung has also included bypass charging support. This feature can help reduce heat during gaming or long usage sessions by directing power to the phone instead of constantly charging the battery, which may help preserve battery health over time.

On the software side, the Galaxy M47 5G runs One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 out of the box. Samsung is also promising 6 generations of operating system upgrades and 6 years of security updates. That long-term software support gives the phone extra value, especially for buyers who plan to keep their device for several years.

The Samsung Galaxy M47 5G is available in two color options: Rogue Red and Blaze Blue. In India, the base variant starts at an effective price of ₹22,999 after a coupon discount. Sales are scheduled to begin on July 4.

With its 120Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, expandable storage, 50MP main camera, 6,000mAh battery, 45W charging, and long software update commitment, the Galaxy M47 5G looks like a strong new option in Samsung’s budget 5G smartphone range.
