Samsung Galaxy S26 FE officially launched with familiar hardware and a higher price
Samsung has introduced the Galaxy S26 FE, its latest Fan Edition smartphone, and the new model appears to be a modest refresh rather than a major upgrade. While the phone brings a newer chipset, a large AMOLED display, improved connectivity, and Samsung’s latest software, much of the overall package remains close to what users already saw in the previous generation.
The Galaxy S26 FE comes with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display featuring an adaptive refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz. That should make the phone feel smooth during scrolling, gaming, and everyday use, while also helping conserve battery when high refresh rates are not needed. The device measures 161.6 x 76.9 x 7.4 mm and weighs around 193 grams, keeping it relatively slim for a large-screen smartphone.
On the back, Samsung has included a triple-camera setup. The main camera uses a 50MP sensor with optical image stabilization and an f/1.8 aperture. It is joined by a 12MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture and an 8MP telephoto camera with optical image stabilization, an f/2.4 aperture, and 3x optical zoom. For selfies and video calls, the phone includes a 12MP front-facing camera.
Powering the Galaxy S26 FE is Samsung’s Exynos 2500 chipset. It is paired with 8GB of RAM across all storage options, meaning buyers cannot choose a higher memory configuration. Storage options include 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. The phone ships with Android 17 and One UI 9, giving users access to Samsung’s newest interface and software features out of the box.
Battery capacity remains unchanged at 4,900mAh. Wired charging is rated at up to 45W, and Samsung says the Galaxy S26 FE can reach around 69% charge in roughly 30 minutes when used with a compatible 45W charger. The phone also supports 15W wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare, allowing it to charge supported accessories or other devices wirelessly.
Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, 5G, and LTE. The Galaxy S26 FE also carries an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, making it better suited for daily use in different environments. Color options include Blueberry, Graphite, and Pistachio, although availability may vary depending on the region.
In Germany, Galaxy S26 FE pricing starts at €799 for the 128GB model. The 256GB version is priced at €899, while the 512GB model costs €1,099. That pricing places the device close to higher-end Galaxy S26 models, which may make some buyers question whether the Fan Edition offers enough value, especially since the upgrades over the previous model are limited.
Sales are scheduled to begin on September 4 in selected markets, with reservations opening from August 27 through Samsung. As part of the launch offer, Samsung is including a six-month Google AI Pro trial with the Galaxy S26 FE. The trial includes 5TB of cloud storage along with expanded access to advanced Google AI features.
Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE looks like a capable Android smartphone with a premium display, solid camera hardware, long software support potential, and modern connectivity. However, with only modest improvements and a price that moves close to flagship territory, its appeal may depend heavily on launch deals, trade-in offers, and regional availability.
