Samsung’s smartphone lineup is on the verge of expansion with the introduction of the Galaxy F15 5G for the Indian market expected in 2024. Ahead of its anticipated launch, the device has graced Geekbench, revealing specifications that closely resemble another model in Samsung’s range, the Galaxy A15 5G.
The upcoming Galaxy F15 5G, believed to be the successor to the F14 5G, sports a model number in the Geekbench listing that corresponds with the Galaxy A15 5G. Both smartphones share several key features, including an operating system based on Android 14, 4GB of RAM, and an SoC featuring a configuration of 6 ARM cores at 2GHz and 2 at 2.3GHz, indicative of the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ processor.
The primary distinction observed between the two is the motherboard code name; the A15 5G uses a15x, while the Galaxy F15 5G is associated with m15x. This subtle difference has led to speculation that the device could also be presented as the Galaxy M15 5G when it makes its debut next year.
Market analysts are keen to see if the new Galaxy F15 5G will be able to maintain or improve upon the F14 5G’s introductory price point, which currently stands at INR 18,490, with discounts bringing it to as low as INR 12,999 on certain platforms like Amazon.
As these mid-range contenders emerge within Samsung’s product roster, consumers and industry watchers alike might find the familiar-looking specs either a point of reliability or a lack of differentiation. The comprehensive details of the Galaxy F15 5G will ultimately reveal how the company intends to position this device within its competitive smartphone portfolio in India.
