Thunderobot has officially launched the AI Master M7000, a powerful 16-inch mobile workstation built for demanding AI tasks, local model inference, content creation, development, and research workloads. After being introduced earlier this year, the laptop is now arriving in China with high-end AMD hardware, a dedicated AI-focused storage setup, and support for running large AI models directly on the device.
At the center of the Thunderobot AI Master M7000 is AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor. This chip features 16 cores and 32 threads, with boost speeds of up to 5.1 GHz. It also includes Radeon 8060S integrated graphics with 40 compute units, giving the workstation a strong graphics foundation without relying on a separate GPU. For AI acceleration, the processor includes AMD’s XDNA 2 NPU, rated at up to 50 TOPS.
The M7000 is designed for users who want to run AI workloads locally instead of relying entirely on cloud services. Thunderobot says the laptop can handle large AI models thanks to its combination of system memory, AI-focused storage, and Phison’s aiDAPTIV+ technology. This system uses flash storage to help expand the effective memory available for AI workloads, allowing larger models to run even when they exceed the limits of traditional physical RAM.
The standard retail configuration comes with 64 GB of memory, while Thunderobot says the system can support up to 128 GB. Storage starts with 768 GB of main storage plus a separate 85 GB AI SSD dedicated to AI workloads. According to the company, this configuration can run the GPT-OSS-120B AI model locally. Higher-end versions are also listed with storage capacities ranging from 1 TB up to 8 TB.
To make local AI work easier, Thunderobot includes its Herdsman local inference engine and FlowAI PC software. These tools are intended to help users manage and run AI models directly on the laptop, making the M7000 more attractive for developers, researchers, creators, and professionals working with generative AI, machine learning, data processing, and other compute-heavy applications.
The display is another strong point. The Thunderobot AI Master M7000 features a 16-inch panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio, a 2560 x 1600 resolution, and a 165 Hz refresh rate. Thunderobot lists the screen at 500 nits of brightness with 100% sRGB color coverage, making it suitable for productivity, creative work, and smooth everyday use.
Performance is also a major focus of the design. Thunderobot advertises a performance power limit of up to 160 W, which suggests the laptop is built to sustain demanding workloads. The machine is powered by a large 99 Wh battery, weighs 2.45 kg, and measures 24.9 mm thick. While it is not an ultraportable device, its size is in line with mobile workstations aimed at professional users.
Connectivity is extensive. The AI Master M7000 includes an OCuLink port, USB4, USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, 2.5GbE Ethernet, and a microSD UHS-II card reader. The OCuLink port is especially notable because it can be used to connect an external GPU, giving users an upgrade path for more graphics performance when needed.
The Thunderobot AI Master M7000 will go on sale in China on September 21 at 10:00 a.m. local time. The starting price is 19,999 yuan, or about $2,986, after the applicable national subsidy. That base model includes 64 GB of RAM, 768 GB of storage, and the 85 GB AI SSD.
Other listed 64 GB configurations include:
1 TB storage for 24,999 yuan, about $3,732
2 TB storage for 26,199 yuan, about $3,912
3 TB storage for 27,499 yuan, about $4,106
4 TB storage for 28,899 yuan, about $4,314
5 TB storage for 30,399 yuan, about $4,539
6 TB storage for 31,999 yuan, about $4,778
7 TB storage for 33,699 yuan, about $5,031
8 TB storage for 35,499 yuan, about $5,300
For now, the Thunderobot AI Master M7000 has only been announced for the Chinese market. The company has not confirmed whether the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 workstation will launch internationally.
With its AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor, 64 GB of memory, AI SSD, local inference software, high-refresh 16-inch display, and broad connectivity, the Thunderobot AI Master M7000 is clearly aimed at professionals who want a portable system capable of serious AI work. It enters the growing market for AI laptops with a strong focus on local model execution, making it one of the more interesting mobile workstations for users who need AI performance without depending on remote servers.
