SimplyNUC is stepping up the compact gaming PC scene with the new Jean Canyon NUC 15 Performance, a 3-liter mini PC designed for people who want desktop-like power without a bulky tower. It pairs Intel’s latest Arrow Lake-HX mobile processors with Nvidia RTX 50-series Laptop graphics, aiming to deliver serious performance for gaming, content creation, and other demanding workloads—wrapped in a clean, understated chassis.
Big CPU power in a tiny gaming mini PC
The NUC 15 Performance is built around Intel Core Ultra 200 HX-class chips, giving buyers two high-end options depending on workload and budget. You can configure it with the 20-core Core Ultra 7 255HX or move up to the 24-core Core Ultra 9 275HX. The Core Ultra 7 255HX boosts up to 5.2 GHz and is positioned as a strong multi-threaded performer for heavy productivity and gaming. For those who want even more headroom, the Core Ultra 9 275HX adds four additional cores and is claimed to deliver roughly a 20% multi-threaded uplift over the 255HX, making it a better fit for tasks like video editing, 3D work, compilation, and high-FPS gaming workloads that lean on CPU strength.
RTX 5060 or RTX 5070 Laptop graphics, with GDDR7
Graphics are handled by discrete Nvidia laptop GPUs, which is a major point for anyone shopping for a gaming-focused mini PC. The Core Ultra 7 configuration comes with the RTX 5060 Laptop GPU, while the Core Ultra 9 model upgrades to an RTX 5070 Laptop GPU. Both options include 8 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, but the RTX 5070 model benefits from faster memory bandwidth (512 GB/s versus 384 GB/s), which can help in bandwidth-sensitive games and creative workloads.
Cooling matters a lot in small form factor systems, and performance will ultimately depend on how well the mini PC can sustain power under load. SimplyNUC says the Jean Canyon NUC 15 Performance uses a triple-fan design paired with dual vapor chambers, an approach intended to keep both CPU and GPU in check during longer sessions.
Connectivity and ports geared for a full desktop setup
Despite its compact size, the NUC 15 Performance brings a port selection that suits multi-monitor and high-accessory setups. It includes six USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, plus Thunderbolt 4 Type-C and an additional USB4 Type-C connection. For displays, there are dual HDMI 2.1 ports and dual DisplayPort 2.1 outputs, making it easy to run multiple high-refresh or high-resolution monitors. You also get a 3.5 mm audio jack, 2.5G Ethernet, and modern wireless with WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
Up to 96 GB DDR5 RAM and up to 8 TB SSD storage
Memory and storage are also built for power users. The system supports up to 96 GB of DDR5-6400 via dual SODIMM slots. Storage can be configured up to 8 TB total using two M.2 2280 SSD slots, with one supporting PCIe 5.0 x4 and the other PCIe 4.0 x4—useful for combining an ultra-fast primary drive with a large secondary SSD for games, projects, and media.
Pricing and availability
SimplyNUC has started shipping the Jean Canyon NUC 15 Performance, but pricing hasn’t been publicly detailed. The base configuration is expected to start with 16 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD. Given the combination of high-core-count Intel Core Ultra HX processors and RTX 50-series Laptop graphics, buyers should expect pricing that matches premium gaming and creator hardware. Customers interested in ordering will need to contact SimplyNUC directly for configurations and purchase details.
