Lossless Scaling 3 has made its much-anticipated debut on Steam, bringing exciting improvements that are set to revolutionize the gaming experience. This latest update not only offers a groundbreaking 20x frame generation mode but also enhances performance in the conventional 2x and 3x modes. Popular YouTuber, ETA Prime, has put these claims to the test, showcasing how this update can dramatically boost your gaming performance.
Getting started, ETA Prime explains the fundamentals of Lossless Scaling 3, highlighting the various modes and settings that gamers can adjust to optimize their gameplay. During his testing, he used the ROG Ally X, a handheld powered by the Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, giving it an opportunity to shine with demanding games like Doom Eternal.
Without any scaling, Doom Eternal ran around 60 FPS at 900p on the High preset. However, activating Lossless Scaling 3 with the “X2” mode, it impressively doubled the frames with minimal increase in frame latency. Another title, Hogwarts Legacy, also benefitted significantly from this update. Known for its intensity on last-generation gaming handhelds, this game averaged about 44 FPS at 720p on the High preset. But after applying Lossless Scaling 3, the FPS leaped to an impressive average of 74.
ETA Prime didn’t stop there. Testing the tool on Starfield also revealed remarkable results, as the frame rate improved from roughly 30 FPS to around 60 FPS. Additionally, in a test using the “X3” mode in Forza Horizon 5, the performance skyrocketed. From about 40 FPS at 1080p on the Ultra preset without scaling, the game soared to an exhilarating 100 FPS with the mode activated, all while maintaining low frame latency.
These significant performance improvements highlight Lossless Scaling 3 as a must-have for gamers looking to maximize their gaming potential on their devices. The engaging video from ETA Prime showcases the possibilities this update offers, and it’s a testament to how cutting-edge tools can transform the way we experience games. Keep an eye out for more updates and tests as Lossless Scaling 3 continues to prove its prowess in the gaming world.
