Fortunately, innovations in tech have led to the development of cadmium-free Quantum Dot displays, which Apple has now adopted for the M4 MacBook Pro. This transformation may explain why the new models offer a significantly higher SDR brightness of 1,000 nits, a 67% increase from the previous 600 nits, although Apple has yet to officially confirm this detail.
