Intel is gearing up to release its innovative P-Core-only Bartlett Lake processors, and there’s exciting buzz around one of its budget models. Let’s dive into the details of the Intel Core 5 120F, which has seen some intriguing leaks.
The recently teased Bartlett Lake series is set to include only P-core processors, reminiscent of a few Alder Lake CPUs. Sharing technical similarities with Intel’s LGA 1700-compatible processors, like the 13th and 14th generation CPUs, it also features Raptor Cove P-Cores. However, Bartlett Lake stands out by focusing solely on Performance Cores, disregarding the Efficient Cores.
These processors are expected to join the Core Series 2 family, though this might cause some confusion as the Raptor Lake Refresh series is also identified under the same label but includes E-Cores. Recently, a member of the new Core 200H series for mobile devices made its first appearance on PassMark. As anticipation builds, Intel is poised to launch the Bartlett Lake series for desktops, and interestingly, details of one of its models have been leaked by @momomo_us.
Meet the Core 5 120F, a budget-friendly option with 6 Performance Cores equipped with hyperthreading, echoing the configuration of the Core i5 12400F. Both processors share several specs: 6 Performance cores, 12 threads, a base clock of 2.5 GHz, a TDP of 65W, and 18 MB of L3 cache. Memory support also remains consistent. The key difference? The Core 5 120F boasts a slightly higher Turbo boost clock of 4.5 GHz, a 100 MHz increase over the 12400F.
Marketed as a budget-savvy choice for gamers, Intel claims it provides a “perfect” gaming experience without being a financial strain. The Bartlett Lake lineup will also include more powerful models in the Core 7 and Core 9 series, offering up to 12 Performance Cores with hyperthreading.
This processor series is already gaining traction with support on Linux and has been crafted with industrial applications in mind. Yet, Intel’s promotional efforts suggest a keen interest in expanding into the mainstream consumer market.
