Retro Gaming: Unveiling the New Retroid Pocket Classic with Optional 6-Button Sega Saturn Style

Retroid is stirring up excitement with its upcoming gaming device, the Retroid Pocket Classic, reminiscent of beloved Game Boy Color and Analogue Pocket designs. This retro-inspired handheld will be available in six nostalgic color options, making it a treat for classic gaming enthusiasts. Even more enticing is the optional six-button model, a nod to the iconic Sega Saturn controller, celebrating its 30th anniversary in Europe and North America.

Although Retroid has yet to launch the Pocket Flip 2, their focus has shifted to the Pocket Classic, which was teased alongside its sibling device over a month ago. Recent updates have given fans a sneak peek at the Pocket Classic’s front design, flaunting several vibrant colors named Atomic Purple, Berry, Classic 6, Kiwi, PKM Yellow, and Retro Teal.

Each version of the Pocket Classic will feature dual sets of shoulder buttons, mimicking the layout seen in recent gaming handheld models like the Anbernic RG40XX V. The standout Classic 6 model will replace the standard ABXY buttons with a special six-button configuration inspired by the legendary Sega Saturn controller, adding a unique touch to its design.

The Pocket Classic also boasts a subtly curved back for enhanced ergonomic comfort. What appears to be a battery door is merely a cosmetic detail, keeping users guessing about its functional design elements. While the release dates for the Pocket Classic and Pocket Flip 2 remain under wraps, it is anticipated that pre-orders for both devices will be launched concurrently.

Stay tuned as Retroid continues to tease and reveal more about the impending launch of these exciting gaming gadgets, promising to take us on a nostalgia-filled journey with a modern twist.
