Earlier this month, well-known leaker @billbil_kun claimed Bethesda was preparing to reveal Starfield for PS5 in mid-March 2026. According to that report, the announcement would land on March 17 or March 18, with pre-orders expected to go live immediately. The same leak also pointed to a full release date of April 7, 2026.
Now there’s a new detail that lines up with that timeline: Starfield’s PS5 version has reportedly appeared at a Romanian retailer. The store listing indicates an April 7, 2026 launch date as well—matching the earlier rumor and strengthening the idea that an official confirmation may be imminent.
It’s still worth keeping expectations measured. Retailer pages can sometimes be placeholders created from circulating speculation rather than confirmed release plans. Still, Bethesda has already hinted that it will share something Starfield-related later in March 2026, and many fans believe this tease is pointing directly to the long-rumored PlayStation 5 announcement.
The leak also outlines a possible pricing approach for Starfield on PS5, mirroring the edition structure seen on other platforms. Two versions are expected: a Standard Edition and a Premium Edition. The rumored prices are $49.99 / €49.99 for Standard and $69.99 / €69.99 for Premium.
If accurate, that would be notably lower than Starfield’s original pricing at launch on other platforms back in 2023, when the Standard Edition arrived at $69.99 and the Premium Edition at $99.99. Pricing details remain a bit murky, though. The Romanian retailer listing is reportedly higher than the leaked figure, while another retailer in Portugal has shown the Standard version at €49.99, which aligns with the rumored number.
For now, nothing is official until Bethesda confirms it. But between the mid-March announcement window, multiple retailer listings, and Bethesda’s own tease for later this month, the signs are pointing to a PS5 release announcement arriving very soon—potentially with pre-orders opening right away and an early April launch on the calendar.
