Redmi Turbo 5 Max Locks In Launch Date, Teases iPhone-Inspired Orange Finish

Xiaomi has been teasing the Redmi Turbo 5 series for weeks, and the wait is nearly over. The company has now confirmed the official launch date: the Redmi Turbo 5 lineup will debut in China on January 29, 2026.

At launch, Xiaomi says the series will start with two new mid-range smartphones. The more premium, performance-focused option will be the Redmi Turbo 5 Max. The phone has already appeared in official images in a clean white finish, but Xiaomi is now spotlighting a bolder look that’s likely to grab more attention.

The new color is called “Sunshine Orange,” and it brings a warm, vivid tone that strongly resembles the orange finish seen on recent iPhone Pro models. In a market filled with safe blacks, silvers, and muted pastels, this kind of standout color could help the Redmi Turbo 5 Max look more distinctive among upper mid-range and “sub-flagship” rivals.

While the latest teasers don’t add new hardware details, Xiaomi has previously confirmed several key specs for the Redmi Turbo 5 Max. It will run on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s, a chipset positioned for sub-flagship performance. Powering the device is said to be a massive 9,000mAh battery, paired with 100W fast charging—an aggressive combination that suggests Xiaomi is aiming for both endurance and speed, not just raw benchmark numbers.

Pricing hasn’t been finalized publicly, but Xiaomi president Lu Weibing has indicated the Redmi Turbo 5 series will target the CNY 2,500 segment, which is roughly around $360 depending on conversion. That places it right in the sweet spot for buyers who want near-flagship performance without paying flagship pricing, and it sets up an interesting showdown with similarly performance-driven alternatives from OnePlus, Realme, and iQOO.

With an official launch date locked in, a head-turning “Sunshine Orange” design, and specs built around battery life and fast charging, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about mid-range phones of early 2026.
