RedMagic’s Snapdragon-Powered OLED Tablet Lands in China With Massive 1TB Storage

RedMagic is expanding its flagship Android tablet lineup in China with a new high-storage version of the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro. The company has confirmed that the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage model will go on sale on November 9 at 8 PM local time, giving mobile gamers and power users a more spacious option for demanding apps, large games, and media files.

The RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro first launched in China in June 2026 as a compact but performance-focused Android tablet. Its biggest appeal is the combination of a premium OLED screen, a powerful Snapdragon chipset, and gaming-oriented cooling hardware. With the arrival of the 1TB model, the device becomes more practical for users who want to store large game libraries without constantly managing space.

The added storage is especially important because the tablet does not include a microSD card slot. That means buyers must choose the right storage option from the start. For users who download console-quality Android games, record gameplay, edit video, or store offline movies and shows, the 1TB variant could be the most convenient choice.

In China, the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage is priced at CNY 6,999, which is roughly $1,048. This places it firmly in premium tablet territory, but the hardware is designed to match that positioning.

At the heart of the tablet is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, built to handle high-end gaming, multitasking, and demanding Android applications. RedMagic has also equipped the device with a liquid cooling system, which should help maintain performance during longer gaming sessions by keeping temperatures under control.

The display is another major highlight. The RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro features a 9.06-inch OLED panel with a 2,400 x 1,504 resolution and a fast 185Hz refresh rate. That high refresh rate should make gameplay feel smoother, while the OLED technology offers deep blacks, strong contrast, and vibrant colors. The relatively compact screen size also makes the tablet easier to carry compared with larger gaming tablets.

Battery life is supported by an 8,300mAh battery, giving the tablet enough capacity for extended gaming, streaming, and productivity use. Combined with the efficient flagship chipset and gaming-focused design, the device is clearly aimed at users who want a powerful Android tablet in a portable form factor.

Outside China, the same tablet is available under the RedMagic Astra 2 name. However, the global version currently comes in 12GB RAM with 256GB storage and 16GB RAM with 512GB storage configurations. Unlike the new Chinese model, it does not yet offer a 1TB version, and it also lacks expandable storage.

That makes the 1TB Chinese model particularly interesting. The previous RedMagic Astra was available in a 24GB RAM and 1TB storage version, so there is a chance RedMagic may eventually bring a similar high-storage option to the global Astra 2 lineup. For now, though, the 1TB configuration appears to be limited to the Chinese version of the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro.

For buyers looking for one of the most powerful compact Android gaming tablets, the new 16GB/1TB RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro is a notable addition. With flagship performance, a high-refresh-rate OLED display, liquid cooling, and generous storage, it is built for gamers and heavy users who need more than a standard tablet can offer.
