RedMagic’s Flagship OLED Tablet Is Officially Going Global

RedMagic Astra 2 Global Launch Teased: Flagship Gaming Tablet Expected Soon

RedMagic is preparing to bring its next premium gaming tablet to the global market. After launching the RedMagic Astra worldwide in June 2025, the company has now confirmed that the RedMagic Astra 2 is “coming soon,” signaling the arrival of another powerful Android gaming tablet aimed at serious mobile gamers.

While RedMagic has not yet revealed the global release date, pricing, or full availability details, the upcoming tablet is expected to be closely related to the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro, which is scheduled to debut in China on June 30. If that connection holds true, the RedMagic Astra 2 could arrive with some major upgrades in display performance, processing power, cooling, and battery life.

The original RedMagic Astra already positioned itself as a high-end gaming tablet, featuring a compact 9.06-inch display, a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and a large 8,200mAh battery. With the Astra 2, RedMagic appears ready to push the experience even further, especially for users who want console-like gaming performance in a portable tablet form.

One of the biggest highlights expected from the RedMagic Astra 2 is its display. The RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro has been confirmed to feature a 9.06-inch OLED screen with an ultra-fast 185Hz refresh rate. That makes it especially appealing for competitive gaming, where smoother visuals and faster response times can make a noticeable difference. The display is also confirmed to reach up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness, which should help improve visibility in bright environments and make games, videos, and streaming content look more vivid.

Performance is another major focus. The tablet is set to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a flagship-level processor designed for demanding apps and high-end mobile games. This chipset should deliver strong frame rates, faster loading times, and better overall efficiency, making the Astra 2 a serious option for gamers who want top-tier Android tablet performance.

To help keep performance stable during long gaming sessions, the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro will include a water-cooling system. This is a notable feature for a compact gaming tablet, as heat management is one of the biggest challenges in powerful mobile devices. Better cooling can help reduce thermal throttling, allowing the tablet to maintain high performance for longer periods.

Battery life also looks promising. The tablet is confirmed to include an 8,300mAh battery, slightly larger than the 8,200mAh unit found in the previous RedMagic Astra. It will also support 80W fast charging, which should make it easier for users to quickly recharge and get back into gaming. Another useful addition is dual USB-C ports, a feature that can be especially convenient for gamers who want to charge the device while using accessories such as controllers, headphones, or external displays.

The RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro will be available in black and silver color options, and these colors may also carry over to the global RedMagic Astra 2 model.

Although RedMagic has not shared the complete global launch details yet, the early teaser suggests that the Astra 2 could become one of the most exciting gaming tablets of the year. With a high-refresh-rate OLED display, flagship Snapdragon power, advanced cooling, a large battery, and fast charging, the upcoming tablet is shaping up to be a strong choice for mobile gamers, cloud gaming fans, and power users looking for a compact but premium Android tablet.
