AMD is turning heads with its latest FSR 4 technology, aiming to give gamers an edge by enhancing framerates without compromising quality, akin to Nvidia’s DLSS 4. This cutting-edge AI upscaling tech promises to elevate gaming experiences, but requires games to be updated for full compatibility.
On February 28, AMD will unveil the prices for the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 GPUs during a highly anticipated YouTube event. Fans can also expect to see demonstrations of games that leverage the power of AMD’s RDNA 4 architecture. FSR 4 aims to stand toe-to-toe with Nvidia, though its benefits will be exclusive to AMD’s latest GPUs. A comprehensive list of over 30 games ready to harness FSR 4’s capabilities has surfaced, though this lineup is still open. Some games might not support the technology immediately upon the RX 9070 series’ release.
Among the expected titles ready to embrace the benefits of FSR 4, Capcom’s new game could see a performance boost, especially after the feedback on issues during the Monster Hunter Wilds open beta. Another intriguing title is Marvel Rivals; despite its reputation for running fairly well on modest PCs, some players have voiced concerns about the Unreal Engine 5 optimization. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and Civilization 7 are also in the spotlight for showcasing FSR 4’s prowess.
By the close of 2025, AMD anticipates that over 75 titles will support FSR 4, with early footage revealing significant improvements in graphical fidelity and reduced artifacts. While requiring an RDNA 4 GPU might limit FSR 4’s reach, the ease of upgrading games from FSR 3.1 to FSR 4 is a notable advantage.
Excitement is brewing among gamers who expect the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT to deliver superior power-to-price ratios compared to Nvidia’s RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070. Although Nvidia’s Blackwell series leans on DLSS 4 for performance gains over its predecessors, AMD hopes to capture its audience with impressive hardware and game support. However, the true challenge may lie in meeting market demand and ensuring these RDNA 4 cards remain accessible.
