Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp. announced on July 31 that its chairman, Frank Huang, has died at the age of 76.
According to a material-information filing submitted by PSMC, which trades on the Taiwan Stock Exchange under the ticker 6770, Huang passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home around midday. The company said the cause of death was cardiopulmonary failure.
Huang was a major figure in Taiwan’s semiconductor industry and played a key role in the development of Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp. His leadership helped shape the company’s position in the competitive chip manufacturing sector, an industry that remains central to Taiwan’s global technology influence.
