PlayStation Plus October Lineup Leak Reveals First Game Catalog Addition

Sony has yet to announce the complete PlayStation Plus Game Catalog lineup for October 2026, but one title has already been confirmed ahead of the official reveal. PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members can look forward to playing Mycopunk when it arrives on PS5 on October 20.

The confirmation came after PlayStation shared a new PS5 release date trailer for Mycopunk, followed by additional details through its social channels. The announcement revealed that the game will join the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on the same day it launches on Sony’s console, giving subscribers immediate access as part of their membership.

October is shaping up to be an interesting month for PlayStation Plus users. September delivered a strong selection of catalog additions, including RuneScape: Dragonwilds, WWE 2K26, and several other games. While Sony is expected to reveal the full October 2026 lineup later this month, Mycopunk is now the first confirmed Game Catalog title for the upcoming wave.

Mycopunk is not technically a brand-new release. The game first entered Early Access on PC on July 10, 2025, allowing its developers to refine the experience with community feedback over more than a year. Its October 20 release marks the end of Early Access and the arrival of the full version, launching alongside the PS5 edition and its inclusion in PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium.

The game is a mission-based looter shooter centered on a team of robot misfits known as the New Atlas Hazard Crew. Working under SAXON Corporation, the crew is sent to confront a strange fungal outbreak that has consumed an entire planet. What follows is a chaotic sci-fi adventure filled with alien threats, explosive combat, and plenty of loot-driven progression.

One of Mycopunk’s biggest features is its four-player co-op gameplay. Players can team up with friends to take on waves of fungal enemies using a mix of futuristic firearms, unusual gadgets, and even power tools. The tone appears to lean into fast-paced action and offbeat humor, giving it a distinct personality within the crowded looter shooter genre.

Customization also plays a major role. Mycopunk includes hundreds of handcrafted upgrades that can be placed into grid-based slots, allowing players to build their characters in creative ways. Some may focus on boosting weapon damage, while others can create support-focused builds for healing and protecting teammates. The upgrade system also encourages experimentation, with mod combinations that can lead to unpredictable and chaotic results.

For PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers, Mycopunk could be one of October’s more notable additions, especially for players looking for a new co-op shooter to enjoy with friends. With its full release, PS5 launch, and Game Catalog debut all happening on October 20, it will be worth watching as Sony prepares to unveil the rest of the PlayStation Plus October 2026 lineup.
