Google has yet to officially launch the Pixel 9 lineup globally, but alleged images of the Pixel 9a have already surfaced, showing a striking design difference from the company’s latest flagship series. A tipster has also hinted at a potential launch timeline for the upcoming mid-range phone, indicating it could be released sooner than expected.
The images, shared by ShrimpApplePro, were originally posted in a Vietnamese Pixel fan Facebook group. These pictures provide a close look at the Pixel 9a, revealing a significantly smaller camera bump compared to any Pixel 9 model. This suggests the Pixel 9a might be thinner than its counterparts. The phone also features rounded corners and a rear camera setup with two sensors and an LED flash.
At the bottom of the handset, there’s a USB-C charging port, a SIM card tray on the left, and a speaker cutout on the right. Additionally, the tipster mentioned that the Pixel 9a could launch before the end of 2024. This is noteworthy because Google introduced the Pixel 9 series in August, earlier than its usual October schedule, potentially indicating a strategy for a quicker market release.
One confirmed color option for the Pixel 9a is silver, and it is reported that the phone will be available in three other colors. Despite these intriguing details, we advise taking this information with caution until further updates are available. It’s also plausible that Google might unveil the Pixel 9a during its I/O keynote, as it did with the Pixel 8a.
