Google Pixel 11 Pro may introduce a glowing camera bar and a major new design
Google may be preparing one of the most noticeable Pixel design changes in years with the rumored Pixel 11 Pro. A brief moment during a recent Google I/O presentation appears to have shown a Pixel-like phone with an illuminated outline around the rear camera bar, sparking speculation that the company is working on a new feature known as “Pixel Glow.”
If accurate, Pixel Glow could become one of the Pixel 11 Pro’s signature design elements. The glowing rear camera bar may function as an LED notification system, lighting up for calls, messages, app alerts, charging status, or custom reminders. It could also allow users to assign different colors or light patterns to specific contacts and notifications, making the back of the phone more useful rather than purely decorative.
The idea would mark a major shift for Google’s smartphone design language. Pixel phones have long been recognized for their horizontal camera bar, but adding customizable lighting could make the Pixel 11 Pro stand out even more in a crowded flagship market. Instead of relying only on screen-based alerts or the traditional always-on display, Google may be looking to turn the rear panel into an interactive notification area.
The teaser was brief, and Google has not officially confirmed the Pixel 11 Pro or the Pixel Glow feature. Still, the appearance of a glowing camera bar on a Pixel-style device has fueled expectations that the company is experimenting with a bolder and more futuristic look for its next major flagship.
Early design information suggests the Pixel 11 Pro could measure around 162.7 x 76.5 x 8.5mm. That would make it slightly slimmer than its predecessor while keeping a large 6.8-inch LTPO AMOLED display. The screen is also expected to feature thinner bezels, giving the device a more modern front design and improving the overall screen-to-body ratio.
On the back, the Pixel 11 Pro is rumored to feature a triple-camera system housed inside an all-black camera bar. This would be a cleaner and more unified approach compared with previous Pixel models that used a partial two-tone camera bar design. Combined with the possible glowing outline, the rear camera area could become the most recognizable part of the phone.
The rumored specifications point to a premium flagship device. The Pixel 11 Pro is expected to include a 6.8-inch LTPO AMOLED display, Google’s Tensor G6 processor with a 7-core configuration, a MediaTek M90 modem, and a base storage option of 256GB. RAM options may include 12GB and 16GB, depending on the model.
Battery life could also see an upgrade, with reports suggesting a 5,500mAh battery. If paired with better power efficiency from the Tensor G6 chip and LTPO display technology, the Pixel 11 Pro could offer strong endurance for everyday use, gaming, photography, video recording, and AI-powered features.
Pricing is currently expected to start at around $1,200, positioning the Pixel 11 Pro firmly in the premium flagship category. The phone is rumored to launch in the second half of 2026, although exact timing has not been confirmed.

If Google does bring Pixel Glow to its next flagship, it could give the phone a distinctive identity while adding practical notification features that users can personalize.
