Pixel 11 and 11 Pro Leak Reveals Striking Glowing LED Camera Redesign

Google may have quietly teased one of the Pixel 11 series’ most eye-catching features during Google I/O 2026: a glowing camera bar known as Pixel Glow.

During a short AI video demonstration at the event, viewers spotted what appeared to be an upcoming Pixel phone with a bright neon-style light around the rear camera housing. The design lines up with recent leaks suggesting that Google is preparing a new illuminated camera strip for its next flagship smartphones.

The feature, reportedly called Pixel Glow, could be more than just a visual upgrade. Leaked Android settings screenshots suggest the glowing strip may work as a notification light, bringing back a modern version of the classic notification LED that many Android fans still miss.

If accurate, Pixel Glow would allow users to see alerts even when the phone is placed face-down. Instead of waking the screen or constantly checking the display, the camera bar could glow for calls, messages, app alerts, and other notifications. This could make the Pixel 11 series more useful for people trying to reduce screen time while still staying aware of important updates.

The glowing camera strip also gives the Pixel lineup a more futuristic identity. Google’s recent Pixel phones have leaned heavily into the camera bar design, and Pixel Glow could turn that signature look into a functional feature. Rather than hiding the camera module, Google may be making it a central part of the phone’s personality.

At this stage, it is not confirmed which models will receive Pixel Glow. The feature may be reserved for the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL, since Google often saves its most premium hardware features for Pro models. However, there is also a chance that the standard Pixel 11 could include it. Whether the more affordable Pixel 11a will get the glowing notification strip remains even less certain.

Google has not officially announced the Pixel 11 series yet, but if the company follows its usual launch schedule, the phones could be introduced around August 2026. Until then, Pixel Glow remains one of the most interesting rumored features to watch.

If the teaser is anything to go by, the Pixel 11 series could deliver a small but meaningful design change: a stylish glowing camera bar that does more than look good. For users who miss notification LEDs, Pixel Glow may be one of the most practical upgrades coming to Google’s next generation of smartphones.
