Picsart, the AI-powered design and editing platform, is rolling out a new creator monetization program that lets creators earn money for making and sharing content. Unlike many creator programs that require invites or a minimum follower count, this one is open to everyone. There are no audience-size requirements, making it a more accessible option for everyday creators who want to turn creativity into income.
The concept is simple: creators use Picsart’s tools to produce original content for specific campaigns, post it to their own social media accounts, and get paid based on how well the content performs. Instead of rewarding popularity alone, Picsart says the goal is to compensate creative effort and real engagement—so performance matters more than scale.
After signing up, creators get access to a dashboard where they can browse active prompts and creative challenges. Campaigns can vary, but an example includes generating cute, fluffy creatures using Picsart Aura, the platform’s AI conversational assistant. Aura can generate and animate images and videos using text or voice prompts, helping creators turn ideas into shareable visuals quickly.
Picsart is also clear that simply mass-posting AI-generated images without adding originality won’t lead to strong engagement—or strong earnings. The program is designed to encourage creators to put thought into what they make, how they present it, and how they connect with their audience.
Once a creator completes a campaign entry, they submit a short form that includes the URL of the post, required campaign tags, and a brief explanation of how the content was made using Picsart. Posts are shared on the creator’s own channels, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X, keeping creators in control of their audience and distribution.
Earnings are calculated based on key engagement signals such as views, comments, shares, and reach. Creators can monitor performance and payouts in their dashboard, then withdraw funds through Stripe.
Picsart founder and CEO Hovhannes Avoyan says the initiative is meant to address a long-standing issue in the creator economy: everyday creators often struggle to get compensated, even when they consistently produce quality work. The company’s message is straightforward—participate, create, post, and if the content performs, you get paid.
The program is positioned to support many different creator styles, whether someone focuses on tutorials, aesthetic edits, short-form video, or other creative formats. It’s also a notable step in Picsart’s broader shift from being primarily a design tool to becoming a creator platform where users can build earning opportunities directly from their content.
Launched in 2011, Picsart says it has grown to more than 130 million users worldwide and reached unicorn status in 2021 during the creator economy surge. This latest move follows another recent announcement from the company: an AI agent marketplace that allows creators to “hire” AI assistants for tasks such as resizing and remixing social content or editing Shopify product photos.
Together, these updates signal a clear direction: Picsart is betting on AI-powered creativity that doesn’t just help people make content faster, but also gives them more practical ways to monetize what they create.
