Philips Unveils 34-Inch Pro Monitor With Calman-Ready Precision and SmartKVM Dual-Device Control

Philips 34B2U5900C launched as a 34-inch curved business monitor with 5K2K resolution and dual refresh-rate modes

Philips has introduced the 34B2U5900C, a new 34-inch curved monitor aimed at professionals, office users, and business environments that need more than a typical display. Instead of focusing purely on gaming features, this model is built around productivity, connectivity, and flexible workflow support.

The Philips 34B2U5900C features a wide curved VA panel with a sharp 5120 x 2160 WUHD resolution, giving users significantly more screen space for multitasking. The extra-wide format is designed to help professionals work across multiple windows, spreadsheets, editing timelines, dashboards, documents, and communication apps without needing a second monitor.

One of the biggest highlights of the monitor is its dual-mode operation. In its default WUHD mode, the display runs at 5120 x 2160 with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. This provides a crisp and smooth experience for productivity tasks, creative workflows, and general office use.

For users who prefer faster motion, the monitor can switch to a lower 2560 x 1080 WFHD resolution and increase the refresh rate to 240 Hz. This makes the display more versatile, allowing it to handle fast-paced content, smooth scrolling, and even casual gaming when needed. Philips has also included a dedicated OSD control button, making it easier to switch between the WUHD and WFHD modes quickly.

Connectivity is another major focus of the Philips 34B2U5900C. The monitor includes USB-C docking support, allowing users to handle video output, data transfer, wired networking, and power delivery through a single cable. With up to 140W power delivery, the monitor can charge compatible laptops while reducing cable clutter on the desk.

In addition to USB-C docking, the monitor offers multiple USB Type-C and USB Type-A ports positioned at the rear and side of the display. This makes it convenient to connect accessories such as keyboards, mice, external drives, webcams, headsets, and other office peripherals.

For professionals working with more than one device, Philips has equipped the 34B2U5900C with SmartKVM. This feature allows users to switch between two connected systems while using the same keyboard and mouse. The switching process can be done through the CTRL key on the keyboard, helping users move between devices without constantly unplugging accessories.

The monitor also supports Calman Ready functionality, which is useful for users who require accurate color calibration. This enables direct communication with Portrait Displays’ calibration software for automated calibration, making the monitor a strong option for content creators, designers, editors, and professionals who depend on consistent color performance.

The curved 34-inch display is designed to improve immersion and viewing comfort, especially for users who spend long hours in front of their screens. Combined with its ultrawide resolution, business-focused connectivity, and high refresh-rate flexibility, the Philips 34B2U5900C is positioned as a premium productivity monitor that can also handle entertainment and lighter gaming workloads.

The Philips 34B2U5900C is expected to launch in September with a listed price of £574.99.
