Philips Hue has expanded its outdoor smart lighting lineup in Europe with three newly upgraded Turaco models: the Turaco Wall lantern, the Turaco Post, and the Turaco Pedestal. These refreshed outdoor lights replace the earlier Turaco range with a brighter light source and the same familiar smart features that make Hue a popular choice for patios, pathways, and front entrances.
Shoppers in several European markets can already pick them up through Philips Hue’s official online store. Pricing depends on the model: the Turaco Pedestal is listed at €129.99, the taller Turaco Post costs €159.99, and the Turaco Wall lantern comes in at €99.90. Availability also extends to select regional brand storefronts, including markets like Germany.
The biggest practical upgrade is brightness. The new Turaco outdoor lights use an A60 light source capable of producing up to 1,100 lumens. That’s a noticeable jump from the previous Turaco versions, which topped out at 806 lumens—useful if you want stronger illumination for driveways, garden features, or darker corners around the home.
As you’d expect from Philips Hue outdoor smart lights, the upgraded Turaco range supports both white and colored lighting. You can adjust brightness, set scenes, and change colors to match different moods—whether you want functional lighting for security and visibility or softer accent lighting for evenings outside.
Control is handled through the Philips Hue app, allowing you to manage your outdoor lighting remotely. For those building a fuller smart home setup, voice control and additional automation features can be unlocked when pairing the lights with a compatible Hue hub, such as the Hue Bridge. This can make it easier to integrate the lights into routines, schedules, and broader smart home commands.
For now, Philips Hue has only confirmed the upgraded Turaco Wall lantern, Turaco Post, and Turaco Pedestal in Europe. There’s no clear timeline on whether—or when—these brighter Turaco outdoor lights will launch in the United States.
