Parkasaurus: Dinoluxe Edition brings dinosaur park chaos to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2 on August 5
Infogrames and Washbear Studio are bringing back their charming dinosaur theme park management game with Parkasaurus: Dinoluxe Edition, a complete version of the playful prehistoric sim arriving on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2 on August 5.
Originally launched on PC in 2020 before making its way to Switch in 2022, Parkasaurus has built a following among fans of colorful tycoon games, creative park builders, and dinosaur-filled management sims. The new Dinoluxe Edition packages the full base game with both major expansions, Sea Monsters and Prehistoric Wonders, giving console players the most complete version of the experience yet.
In Parkasaurus, players build and manage a lively dinosaur theme park where adorable prehistoric creatures are the star attraction. The goal is simple to understand but tricky to master: create exciting exhibits, keep visitors happy, grow profits, and make sure the dinosaurs stay healthy, comfortable, and preferably inside their enclosures.
Designing the perfect dinosaur habitat is one of the game’s biggest challenges. Each creature has its own needs, meaning players must carefully consider exhibit size, terrain, materials, plants, humidity, elevation, and overall ecology. A well-planned habitat helps dinosaurs thrive, while poor management can lead to unhappy animals, bad guest reviews, and the kind of breakout that turns a peaceful park day into a hilarious disaster.
The Dinoluxe Edition includes both Sea Monsters and Prehistoric Wonders, expanding the game with even more creatures and environments. Prehistoric Wonders adds 10 additional animals, including the Mammoth, Dire Wolf, and Giant Capybara. Sea Monsters introduces 10 aquatic creatures, along with three new water-based biomes. Players can raise ancient marine reptiles like Mosasaurus from a baby and build underwater habitats using fluid water physics to create the right environment for sea life.
Across the full package, Parkasaurus: Dinoluxe Edition features 44 dinosaur and prehistoric creature breeds, including 24 from the base game, 10 from Sea Monsters, and 10 from Prehistoric Wonders. Players can also build across 12 distinct biomes, giving plenty of freedom to customize each area of the park and create eye-catching exhibits for guests.
Park management goes far beyond placing fences and hatching eggs. Players need to hire staff, manage scientists, unlock research, set admission prices, place donation boxes, add food stalls, and decide which attractions should come with extra fees. Keeping the business profitable is important, but the best park owners also need to protect the wellbeing of their dinosaurs.
Research plays a major role in progression. By developing new technologies, items, upgrades, and dinosaur eggs, players can continue expanding their park and improving the guest experience. There are also 15 missions to complete across different areas, including 12 from the base game and three additional missions from the Sea Monsters expansion.
Of course, even the best-run dinosaur park can descend into chaos. Weather changes, storms, disasters, and dinosaur escapes can all disrupt operations. When a creature breaks loose, players can jump into first-person mode to help handle the situation directly, adding a fun and frantic twist to the traditional tycoon formula.
