Palworld Version 1.0 is set to be the game’s biggest update yet, and Pocketpair is making it clear that the full release will be far more than a simple early access exit.
Despite becoming one of the most talked-about survival games of 2024, Palworld has technically remained in early access since launch. That changes on July 10, when the game officially reaches version 1.0 worldwide on Windows PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
According to Pocketpair, the 1.0 update is the largest and most ambitious release the studio has ever prepared for Palworld. Publishing and community lead John “Bucky” Buckley recently described the update as bigger in scale than anything the team has launched before, suggesting that players can expect major additions and meaningful changes across the entire game.
The biggest highlight is the arrival of the long-awaited World Tree region. Since Palworld’s debut, players have been able to spot the massive World Tree in the distance, but the area has remained unreachable. For many fans, finally exploring this mysterious location will feel like a major milestone after months of speculation and anticipation.
Pocketpair says the full release will also add more new Pals than any previous update. That alone makes version 1.0 a major expansion, but the studio is not stopping there. The update is expected to bring significant adjustments to multiple gameplay systems, indicating that the developers are using the full launch to polish, rebalance, and expand the core Palworld experience.
Rather than simply stacking new content onto the existing game, version 1.0 appears designed to reshape Palworld in a broader way. Players can likely expect improvements that affect exploration, combat, base building, creature collection, and progression, making the full release feel more complete and refined than earlier versions.
One detail that stands out is Pocketpair’s stance on Pal evolution. Although Palworld has often been compared to creature-collecting games, the studio has confirmed that it does not plan to introduce a traditional evolution system. Instead, each Pal is intended to remain its own distinct species with a unique identity.
That design choice could help Palworld further separate itself from other monster-collecting titles. By avoiding standard evolution chains, Pocketpair appears focused on making every Pal feel individually valuable rather than simply a step toward a stronger final form.
With the World Tree region, a large wave of new Pals, and sweeping gameplay improvements, Palworld version 1.0 is shaping up to be a major moment for the game. After months in early access, the full release could bring both returning players and newcomers back into its open-world survival adventure.
Palworld officially launches its version 1.0 update on July 10 across PC, Xbox consoles, and PlayStation 5.
