Origin Code Vortex DDR5 memory pushes 256GB capacity, 8000 MT/s speeds, and liquid cooling at Computex
Origin Code, the performance memory brand under Biwin, made a strong impression at Computex with its latest Vortex DDR5 memory lineup. The company demonstrated high-capacity, high-speed DDR5 modules designed for enthusiasts, creators, gamers, and workstation users who want more bandwidth, lower latency, and improved cooling for demanding workloads.
One of the biggest highlights was Origin Code’s new 4-rank CUDIMM memory configuration. As newer CUDIMM and CQDIMM designs continue to push DDR5 forward, manufacturers are now able to deliver modules with both higher density and faster speeds. Origin Code showed this progress clearly with a system running two DDR5 modules that delivered a total capacity of 256GB.
In the past, reaching 256GB of system memory typically required four 64GB RAM sticks. With Origin Code’s latest modules, that same capacity was achieved using only two sticks, opening the door for more flexible high-capacity builds. The demo system used a Gigabyte Z890 AORUS Elite DUO X motherboard paired with Intel’s Core Ultra 7 270K Plus processor.
The memory kit was not only large in capacity but also extremely fast. The two modules were shown running at 8000 MT/s with timings of CL64-63-63-128-CR2. For a 256GB DDR5 configuration, this is an impressive result and highlights the direction premium desktop memory is heading.
Origin Code is using highly selected SK Hynix memory chips for these modules, helping them reach high speeds out of the box. During the benchmark demonstration, each module reportedly stayed around 60°C under RAM stress testing. Interestingly, the DRAM chips were left uncovered during the demo, meaning the visible setup did not fully represent the final retail design. The finished version is expected to include a proper heatsink covering the DDR5 modules for improved cooling and long-term stability.
Origin Code also had something notable for AMD users. The company showcased its EXPO ULL, or Ultra-Low-Latency, DDR5 memory modules optimized for AMD platforms. These kits were demonstrated at 6200 MT/s on an ROG Crosshair X870E DARK HERO motherboard with an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D v2 processor.
The AMD-focused memory kit ran with tight timings of CL28-35-35-76-CR1. Low-latency DDR5 memory can be especially useful in workloads where quick data access matters, including gaming, AI tasks, content creation, and productivity applications. For Ryzen systems, optimized EXPO profiles and fine-tuned sub-timings can make a meaningful difference in real-world responsiveness.
Cooling was another major part of Origin Code’s Computex showcase. The company previously introduced its Vortex triple-fan memory cooling solution, but this time it took things further with a liquid-cooled DDR5 memory concept. The liquid-cooled module uses an open-loop design and includes a front display that can show real-time temperature information for the CPU, GPU, and RAM.
This approach turns the memory cooler into more than just a thermal solution. It also becomes a monitoring hub for enthusiasts who want live system data visible inside their PC build. With modern DDR5 modules reaching higher frequencies and capacities, advanced cooling solutions may become more important for users who overclock or run heavy workloads for long periods.
The liquid-cooled demo system featured 256GB of DDR5 memory using four 64GB modules running at DDR5-6000. The setup was installed on an MSI X870E GODLIKE motherboard and operated with timings of CL30-43-43-102-CR1. While the speed was lower than the 8000 MT/s CUDIMM demonstration, the configuration still showed strong performance for a large-capacity DDR5 system.
Origin Code’s Computex presentation made it clear that high-performance DDR5 memory is evolving quickly. The company demonstrated massive 256GB capacities, high-speed 8000 MT/s operation, ultra-low-latency AMD EXPO kits, and advanced air and liquid cooling solutions. For PC enthusiasts, overclockers, gamers, and professionals working with AI or content creation, Origin Code’s upcoming Vortex DDR5 memory products could be worth watching closely.
